Lindsay's POV
She remembers growing up in Montana and the thought brings a smile to her face. The fondest memory that she had when she was younger was that she felt freedom when she played outdoors. She didn't have access to the video games so Lindsay and her friends would spend hours at end playing tag and playing red rover. She remembers her mother calling her into the house to eat, her mother's voice echoing in the Montana landscape.
Her family only had one television and it has a couple of channels. If the football game was on you could forget about watching what you wanted to do. It was that simple. And if you had to change the channel, you had to get up and change it yourself.
What she had discovered while growing up was that she had no worries. The biggest worry was if she got in the right college. There was no crime; the only danger was if a bear happened to get in your yard. She felt safe and in a way she felt sheltered from the real world.
The real world knocked on her front door when she went to work at the New York Crime Lab. Having been in the "backwoods", she realized that she had a lot to learn from the city and she has to search for the true meaning of herself.
Her small town attitude was her calling call. She tried to impress Mac, her new boss but she was thwarted by the new "nemesis" in her life, Danny Messer. From the first time that she met him, she felt that he was the biggest pain in the ass that she had ever met. He was like a big kid that liked to get you in trouble.
But what she didn't know at the time was that the collision of two cultures was the changing point in her life.
