Yay! Avatar is back! And DOUBLE yay! Pipsqueak and the Duke are back! I just hope Teo is coming soon...
And was it just me? Or did the Maiko action seem a little strained?
Anyway, to celebrate, I decided to write a quick one-shot on what we missed before the season started.
Jesus.Lives
"You told them right?" Katara whispered to her brother as she eyed her father in the distance, hoping that he wouldn't come over.
Surprise registered on Sokka's face. "What? Me? You knew him better than me!" sensing her building anger he quickly changed tact. "But on second thought... it might be considered a brotherly duty to take care of this." He too shot his father a quick look wanting to prove to him that he could be the man that his father trusted him to be... and having his little sister upset was one way to jeopardize that.
Katara's stomach clenched up as Sokka made his way over to the newcomers on the ship, hoping dearly that Toph hadn't already made a tactless comment to them about what happened in Ba Sing Se, and hoping even more that Sokka could deliver the message with some degree of concern or respect - two things that Sokka sorely lacked when it came to Jet.
The Duke was on Pipsqueak's shoulders, looking out over the waves. Katara saw Toph leave. A tear splattered down her cheeks.
She watched the whole scene of Sokka talking to them, looking at his feet momentarily as the news was broke. The two boys were strangely expressionless. Pipsqueak picked up The Duke to put him down on the ship. It was if somehow they already knew, or they already assumed the worst... perhaps at not hearing from Jet.
Pipsqueak said a quick word to Sokka and then left with The Duke to go into the ship. Katara walked up to her brother, left standing there - the air still felt as tense as if she had been the one to tell them.
"What did he say?" she asked tenderly, putting a hand on her brother's arm.
"That it was a bad idea." He shrugged, "I guess they knew that Jet shouldn't have gone to Ba Sing Se."
"Maybe none of us should have." she responded, turning her nervous thoughts once again to Aang, hoping for his awakening to be sooner, rather than later.
