AN: This is just a little one-shot that was rolling around my head. Sorry if it sucks
I will be continuing my other story Hollow but I need to get this out.
"It was a mistake" he told her.
But she knew the truth.
The tension between them hade been growing for months. She wasn't a little girl any more and he had noticed.
Over the years they had become close and slowly their relationship had changed. Neither one wanted to acknowledge what was between them, but one drunken night had changed all that.
The had declared their love for each other in the midst of a passion filled night. It had been perfect, glorious. It was everything she wanted.
But he said it was a mistake.
She knew the truth.
He avoided her after that night. They barely spoke and when they did, it was strained.
It was several weeks before she found out. Their one night of passion had another consequence. She immediately resigned her position as shinobi. The Hokage was knew about her condition and demanded to know who the father was. She refused to name him.
No one else knew what had happened. They were simply told that she resigned and had left Konoha.
Only the Hokage knew where she was, and in accordance with her wishes, told no one.
She moved to Suna and had her child there. She was often looked down upon because she refused to name the father but that never bothered her.
She began working at the hospital there, she was after all a medic. She became close with the Kazekage and as strange as it was he became like an uncle to her young daughter. She was slowly becoming happy again. Her daughter was everything to her.
And then came the day she had been dreading. Her five year old daughter asked about her father. Who he was. Where he was. What he was like.
She was at a loss at how to answer these questions.
Should she tell her the truth. That she had been a mistake. That her father did not even know about her.
No. She would not put her child through that.
After five years, it was time to return home.
She entered the village under cover of darkness. Her daughter covered by a hooded cloak. She couldn't risk anyone finding out before she told him. He deserved to hear the truth from her, not the Konoha gossip mill.
She went straight to his apartment. She could feel her resolve weakening. But before she could change
her mind she was there, standing in front of his door. Her body seemed to move on it's own, reaching up and knocking on the door.
Her arm dropped to her side, hands shaking. What would she say to him. How would he react.
All thoughts were banished as the door opened.
He stood there in shock as he recognized the woman standing before him.
"Sakura?" His voice cracked.
He stood there, unable to form words.
"There's something I need to tell you about, something I should have told you about a long time ago." she said softly, tears threatening to fall.
He looked at her face questioningly before his gaze was pulled down to the small lump attached to her leg.
She pulled the hood off the young girl and gently prodded her forward.
He eyes took in the form of a young girl, not more than five years old. Her bright green eyes locked with his and his breath caught. Long silver hair spilled down around her shoulders. The little girl looked up at him and giggled slightly.
"Kakashi" Sakura said, "I'd like you to meet Rin, your daughter.
