The pink-haired dark-skinned girl was becoming impatient as she waited for her friend to arrive. They were supposed to on another quest and he was late.
"Where the hell is that idiot?" questioned the girl with a growl. "If he doesn't get here soon, I'll hunt him down myself!"
"Hey, BlackRose!"
The Heavy Blade looked over to where the voice came from to see her partner Kite running towards her.
"You're late, Kite!" yelled BlackRose as she glared at Kite. "You know we're on a schedule!"
"Yeah, sorry about that," replied Kite as he rubbed the back of his head. "I was getting my weapon upgraded."
Pinching the bridge of her nose in frustration, BlackRose really questioned her choice of partners. "Look, can we just get going? If we can complete this quest we'll earn an item that can really help us out."
"Sure thing!"
BlackRose followed after Kite, who took the lead. While walking she remembered the first time she met Kite and how they would constantly argue and butt heads. Now, she considered him one of her best friends. Yeah, there were times where Kite could still get on her nerves, but that was seldom. Plus, it didn't hurt that he was kind of cute.
With a blush, she quickened her pace so she could walk right next to Kite. She noticed that he raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"What? Am I not allowed to walk next to you or do you think I should stay behind you all the time?" demanded BlackRose as she gave him a narrowed look.
Kite gave her a grin, which made her stomach flutter. "Nope. Just thought you wanted something."
Rolling her eyes, BlackRose couldn't help but be amused. Leave it to Kite to lighten the mood. All the more reason she wanted to protect him from harm.
She would do whatever it takes to keep him safe.

I still know next to nothing about the .hack/ series. The only thing I've seen of it was the animé .hack/Legend of the Twilight and that was YEARS ago. That being said, I kinda hope that Namco at some point will release enhanced versions of the original PS2 .hack/ games so I can see how the original versions of the characters are like.
