The cobblestones beneath his feet gleamed,

Worn smooth from the many that came before.

He followed a weary path.

Fear gripped his heart,

How could he best what had

Broken the mighty and

Eroded the stone.

What made him unusual?

What made him exceptional?

He followed the twists and

Turns of the trail until he came upon

A woman.

Slowly he regained his bearings,

remembered his quest.

Knowing she could not hold

Him any longer, the shade

Relinquished her claim.

Crawling on bloody hands and bruised knees

He came back to the path and

Continued on.

Filled him with hope.

He staggered across the drawbridge to be

Warmly welcomed by the residents.

Until one day he became our leader.

The protector.

We serve him to help him in his

Quest and make sure he
