Simple Pleasures

Warm, gentle sunlight streamed into the tranquil living room, casting long shadows on the wall. All was quiet and peaceful except for a page being turned every couple of seconds. Deep amethyst eyes looked on from the kitchen at the slender fingers turning the pages and couldn't help but smile at the image before him. Hisoka had been reading most of the day and with the sun on his face, giving him an angelic glow, Tsuzuki couldn't help but look on. Funny, how a simple thing like watching Hisoka read gave him such pleasure. Of course, it wasn't unusual for him to find himself staring at his younger partner from a distance. In a way, it had become calming.
A strand of light brown hair was carelessly pushed out of his jade eyes as Hisoka continued reading his hardcover novel. The plot was so intense that it had sucked him into the story from the very first page. Leaving him wanting more every time he finished reading a page. Funny, how a simple thing like reading gave him so much pleasure. He felt a pair of eyes staring at him from across the room and looked up to see Tsuzuki smiling at him lovingly. It wasn't unusual to find Tsuzuki staring at him whenever he was doing something simple such as reading a book. But for some strange reason, it was calming.
Hisoka put his book down just as Tsuzuki had sat down on the couch. No words were exchanged but a simple smile was enough to know what the other one wanted. Tsuzuki leaned back onto Hisoka's chest and felt the latter's hands wrap around him. It had taken time to get used to simple touches such as these but the warm and loving feeling that Hisoka felt every time was enough to get him hooked. He rested his head on Tsuzuki's and closed his eyes. Their breaths came in unison and a sense of calmness came over them. Funny, how from one single moment comes a lifetime of pleasure.
