The Sound of Waves

In Noir ep 4, there is a superb scene where Mireille relaxes on the beach in Ulgia with pleasant ocean waves and bright sun. Despite these happy and warm surroundings, Kirika flashbacks to her dark scene in the bamboo forest. I tried to capture this feeling in this poem in conjunction with my fanart: /art/Kirika-fanart-The-Sound-of-Waves-722115039

The sound of waves
drowned by my ocean
only murmurs of death
stray on these shores

The sound of waves
warmed by sunshine
yet darkness surrounds
my heart in coldness

The sound of waves
is forever great
but my emptiness
seems a greater infinity

The sound of waves
calms her gently
but will this sound
ever reach my unease?
