Inspired by the youtube video "Why Robin Why?" made by Ms94Baby. This is going to be a quick short story thing starting with the end. :)


The wind blew past everyone who came. On a branch in of the willow tree, a mocking bird sang a sorrowful song. Bruce Wayne closed the casket, trying desperately not to cry. After all the years he spent raising this boy, why would he not cry? Wally West buried his face into Alfred's arm, not bothering to hid his sobs. Clark Kent gripped Conner's arm, his son trying to stay strong. M'gaan and Zatanna clung to each other, as Artemis rubbed their backs. Their little bird wasn't waking up this time. Their little bird was going to his family. Roy Harper put a strong arm around Wally, as the casket was lowered deeper and deeper into the hole. Artemis broke, and tears streamed down her face. The lone mocking bird was joined by another, singing the same haunting tune, that lingered over the group of super heros. When the casket reached the bottom, Bruce and Clark began to bury him. No powers, no special gadets. Just a regular rusted shovel. The head stone was placed firmly next to the two most important people Bruce had ever known. Maybe Dick would get to finally meet his grandparents. As the three girls walked back to the car, with heart wrenching sobs, only two people stood planted by that grave. Alfred wiped his eyes with a hanky, then offered it to Bruce. He took it, letting all his tears fall, splashing onto the grave. No more suffering. No more sorrow. Dick Grayson was in a better world, he finally got his wings. His baby Robin, had finally learned to fly
