The Goodnight Kiss.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione were all sitting in the common room when Ginny came through the portrait hole. She had a tan piece of parchment in her hand. She walked over to the trio and sat down on the couch next to Harry.

"Where were you Gin?" Ron asked.

"Oh, I went up to the Owlery to send a letter to mum and an owl flew in and dropped this." She said as she held up the letter, "it's addressed to you Hermione" Ginny finished handing the letter to Hermione.

"Thanks! Oh, it's from Victor!" Once she said this Ron tensed up, and Harry and Ginny took this as their cue to leave.

"Ummm…Ginny I'm kind of hungry…err…want to sneak down to the kitchen with me?" Harry said nervously and stood up.

"Yes! That sounds great." Ginny agreed and jumped up to follow Harry. They briskly walked over to the portrait hole and climbed through.

Once they were gone Hermione started to read her letter, while Ron started jealously trying to hold himself back from getting up and ripping the letter in to a billion little pieces. When she finished she looked up smiling.

"What did Vicky want?" Ron voiced rudely.

"His name is Victor, Ronald. And not that it is any of your business but, he just wanted to know what I was doing this summer. I don't see why you don't like him you used to practically worship him."

"I thought you were coming to my house this summer. And…well what do you see in him anyway. Just cause he's famous, is that why you're dating him!" he exclaimed his voice getting louder. Everyone in the common room now took this as their sign that another famous Ron/Hermione fight was coming so they all vacated the premises.

"I am going to your house this summer! I never said I was going to go to Victor's. And we are not dating! We are just friends!" By now they were both standing and yelling.

"JUST FRIENDS! You kissed him! That's not just friends." Ron yelled.

"I did nothing of the sort! He kissed me! And it meant nothing it was just a goodnight kiss." Hermione defended.

"Oh so if I were to kiss you right now, afterwards nothing would change? We would still be friends?" he questioned.

"No. If you kissed me goodnight nothing would be different, and we would still be friends."

"Okay" he walked over to her, cupped her face with his big hands and slowly lowered his face towards hers. She shivered as she felt his breath on her face and her knees went weak when his soft, smooth lips touched hers. Just as she placed her tiny, fragile hands to his over-worked forearms, he broke the kiss. "Goodnight." He whispered and walked over to the boy's staircase and slowly made his way to the top. When he reached the landing he turned and looked down at the brown-eyed beauty standing beneath him, then he made his way to his room.

Hermione just stood in the middle of the common room in shock. The boy she loved for so long had just kissed her, but she told him it was nothing.

Authors Note-I know it is short but I like the plot.
