"Okay you can do this," Steph murmured to herself, "There's nothing to be nervous about. It's just your first date with Tim since you broke up!" she sighed, "Yeah…nothing to be nervous about…" she said sarcastically.
She straightened out her eggplant dress, and walked into the ballroom. She was meeting Tim at the ballroom for their date. He told her that he wanted to take her somewhere special for their first official date, since their first, first one wasn't special at all. At least by Tim Wayne it wasn't special. To Tim Drake it was.
When she walked in her breath caught in her throat. It was so elegant! Almost everything inside was gold, or tan, or brown, and it all looked so…extravagant and…expensive.
"Steph!" her attention was turned from the ballroom to a running Tim.
She smiled and once he reached her, hugged him warmly, "Tim," she murmured, "you didn't have to go to all…" she released from the embrace and pointed her hand at the ballroom, "this!"
"But Steph," he protested teasingly, sounding a little bit like a kid, "I wanted to. I want to make this special. I wanted to show you how much you mean to me, because…I'm not letting you go this time," he murmured.
She blushed, and Tim grabbed her and showed her towards the dance floor.
"May I have this dance?" he said, holding out his hand.
She giggled, "Yes, of course!"
He grabbed her waist and pulled her tightly to him, slowly starting to slow dance, and it seemed to them as if they were the only two people in the room. Steph rested her head on his shoulder, "I missed this. Us. I'm glad we're together again, Tim, because I still did love you…but are you sure you wanna go through this again?"
He looked at her, "Of course," he said, not a trace of doubt in his voice.
She nodded, "I like this…getting a second chance," she smiled, "I'm glad that you gave me one."
"Me too, Steph, me too," Tim said as he tightened his grip on her waist, never wanting to lose her again.
