A Failure

She walked down the crowded Konoha street. Her jade eyes glistening with unshed tears. The mission had been another failure and she was sure it was all her fault. The tears finally spilled over and she ran.

Her legs took her to the training grounds. By now it was dark and a soft rain was falling. She looked at the three logs, remembering when she had become a genin. They were all so happy! But they were no longer happy. Sasuke had left, and she and Naruto had failed.

It's my entire fault, I'm not strong enough. I couldn't even do anything! She thought bitterly. She brushed her rose colored hair out of her face as she broke out crying again.

Someone had appeared behind her she could tell they were obvious. But still she didn't turn around, she didn't care. She was surprised to feel that person put his arms around her waist. He whispered, "You'll catch cold, Sakura-Chan"

"I-I'm fine!" she protested.

"You aren't fine, you're crying," Naruto said.

Sakura turned around and hugged him, sobbing and saying, "Naruto, I'm a worthless failure!"

"No you aren't! You are…"

"But I-"

"No you haven't failed! You're smart and know much more than I ever will, you are stronger than anyone I have ever seen, and you are a great medical-nin! And I promise we will get him back!" She gasped at how insistent he sounded. And she believed him.

"Naruto-Kun…arigato," Sakura said.

"You're welcome, Sakura-Chan."

She felt something else too, something she had never felt before. Love. She had been naïve to how much she liked Naruto. But she had finally realized that he was always the one to make her feel better or cheer her up. And that his love for her was more than just as a teammate. "I love you, Naruto-Kun," she told him.

"I love you too, Sakura-Chan…" he whispered in her ear.

A/N: Oh, forgot the disclaimer! I don't own Naruto, it belongs to that wonderfull guy Masashi Kishimoto!
