Murmurs

Moonlight shines through her windows

Somewhere in the night

He's there

Waiting

Slinking into the shadows

Dancing in the darkness

That becomes him

Clocks turn

Time stops

When he sees her

She's his only

She's forbidden

The apple

That could

Destroy their Eden

Whispers fly

Murmurs caress

Her sleeping ears

She dreams he's there

Kneeling at her side

Gazing at her face

Reaching out to touch her

But he stops

And turns away

Knowing the risk

The pain he could cause her

The damage he could do

Once it would be done

It could not be undone

He can't do that to

Cause her that much pain

Take her life away

She's only sixteen

So for now

He kneels by her bed

Each night

Longing for her

Murmuring his love

To her sleeping

And unhearing ears

And wishing for the day

When they can be together

Without penalty

Without worries

Without the world interfering

The shadows embrace him again

And he is gone
