Written for the Stargate Drabble List Challenge – Using the following four words: Crash, Ancient, Dead, Impending. Bonus word: Freak. Phrase: Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him. Horatio: A fellow of infinite jest, most excellent fancy….

The crash zone was massive, the ship had been Ancient, but its crew was long dead. Daniel brushed off the hardened earth from the skull and handed it to Jack to be catalogued. His most unwilling field assistant held it out arms length, face twisted into a scowl.

"Alas, poor Yorick!" Jack turned the skull so the eye sockets were facing him, and pressed his face up close, "I knew him-,"

"Jaaaackk!"

Jack smiled, and tilting his head, held the skull up next to his cheek. "Yes?" he asked nodding his head and the skull in unison.

"This crash site is on a rather large fault line." Daniel grabbed the skull and placed it in a packing crate. "Our time here is limited, and we're under the threat of impending earthquakes, can we hold Bard on the Beach another time?"

"Horatio," Jack continued at the top of his voice, "A fellow of infinite jest, most excellent fancy…"

"You're a freak, you know that don't you?"
