Ma,
Hey ma, it's me, Ellis. I hope you're feeling okay and doing well at the evac. I'm sorry I didn't come wit ya, but that's okay right? So long as you and the girls are safe it's alright. I did what I wanted to ma, I found other survivors and we're heading towards the nearest evacuation center. Unluckily enough it's in New Orleans. The one in Jacksonville is gone. The whole dang city is gone! We was gonna try to go to that one, but all of the bridges were blown up by the dang military. It's like they was trying to keep the infected in. The one in Savannah was gone too, by the time we got there.
Anyway, I know I can't send this to ya in the mail on account of everyone being either infected or dead, but Ima get it to ya somehow, just you wait. The other survivors I'm traveling with are real nice, ma, well, 'cept for Nick, but that's just 'cause he don't want Ro' or Coach to know he's really a nice guy sometimes. Anyway! There's Nick, he's like some kinda ex-mobster type, Rochelle, she's a news reporter from Ohio and Coach, Coach is from the 'vannah just like us! I think he coached football at one of the high schools. They're all nice people and have saved my tail quite a few times. I think you'd like Nick best, 'cause even though he looks like some shady conman, and he kinda is, he's also nice and you an' him could have an insultin' competition. He's real quick witted like.
By the way, have you heard from Keith? I never did find him when I went to go find others. Did he slip on the whirly bird with you and the girls? I hope so, won't be the same without good ol' Keith to hang with.
How's Susie and Molly? You tell them their big brother is out savin' people and stuff? They ain't all a worrying, right? Especially Susie, you know how she is, fragile little thing. Well I really don't know what else to add to this here little letter, I wish I could say more but I don't know what to say. Oh! Well, we're almost to Louisiana! We should be there in two days max. Or at least, that's what Coach estimated, Nick told me while we were on watch that it might be more like three or four. I hope it's just the two, as much fun as all this is, it's really tiring and scary sometimes when someone gets hurt real bad. Nick got attacked by a dang Jockey the other day and he tripped over a big rock and sprained his ankle real bad, he's been limpin' a bit but I think it's gettin' a bit better. I'm doin' okay, just got a couple bad scratches from a Hunter, dang thing came outta no where! We were hearin' it's growlin' but suddenly we heard it's shriek and then bam! I'm on the ground trying to push it offa me while the others are trying to shove it off. Coach shot the dang thing in the head after Nick kicked it offa me, luckily Coach used his pistol 'cause he mighta hit me if he'da used his shotgun. But I'm okay! Don't get all upset 'cause I'm just fine. Sure the special infected seem to come straight to me, but that's okay, your boy is all good. Anyway, now I think I'm outta things to talk about, I can't wait to tell you all about this in person, it'd be way too long if I wrote it out and it wouldn't be the same, you know, since I'm a great story teller an all, what with tellin' everyone about me n' Keith's adventures, I think they're tired of hearin' 'em but I can't help it! I love to tell them.
Anyway, I love yah, ma, stay safe 'cause I'ma comin' to get ya. After the infection is cleared we can get back to livin' n' stuff. Tell Molly an' Susie that big brother loves them lots! If I can find more paper I'll write some more for you, so you can keep them. I know you love to keep stuff like this.
Love,
Ellis
