Edward, Emmett, Jasper and I were out hunting around where I had gone on my first hunting trip the day I was changed. Of course, it being August in Forks, there were a lot of bugs out. Mostly mosquitoes.
I was extremely glad the bloodsucking bugs couldn't break through my skin, though the scent of us didn't help anything. I've been a vampire for ten months and never thought I'd admit to myself how much I missed the simplicity of human fast- food. Even though this was tons more fun.
As a big male mosquito landed on the back of Edward's head, Emmett quietly moved closer to him. My brawny older brother reached his hand back and hit Edward so hard that my husband went flying into a tree sixty feet away. It snapped in two while Edward brushed the bark off his pants.
Edward raised his arms screaming, "EMMETT! What the hell?"
Jasper and I were trying extremely hard to hold in our laughter; we were leaning on each other from the resistance.
Emmett shrugged his shoulders. "There was a mosquito," he said nonchantly, walking away.
My brother and I had reached our limit. We fell and started laughing so hard, the ground trembled.
Edward jumped up and tackled Emmett to the ground. They rolled around, punching one another… rolling into a pile of rocks and crumbling them… scaring off a pack of deer.
"Guys," I said, still giggling. "Come on. I want to get back some time soon."
Just before we heard it, Edward had jumped up and given me a very sweet kiss. A split- second after, we heard the roar of a fighting mountain lion and grizzly bear.
"Dibs on the grizzly!" Emmett yelled, running towards the fight.
"Lion!" I screamed, zipping past my shocked husband and brother.
