AN: So this is too short to be a one shot and too long to be a drabble but I decided to post it anyways. So call it want you want to call it.

Love. There were so many different kinds.
Like loving the feeling of having a cigarette right after spending the night with Kathy. Or having a good stiff drink after a long day.
Or the colour of Kathy's hair and the way it felt all tangled up in your hands. Her soft skin, her sweet smell with a hint of cigarette smoke. The sound of her laugh and the way her smile literally lit up the entire room. The way her breath hitched when you ran your hands over her body, and the way she said your name could just about drive you crazy.
It was different this time; she was different. With any other broad, you would have gotten bored a long time ago. But with Kathy, you were never bored. And things hadn't changed much since you started dating, sure things definitely got hotter and so, so, so much better. There was no possible way you could get bored of her, everything about her made you want to be with her more.
It was a weird feeling, and you couldn't really decide if it was a good or bad. Sometimes it made you feel invincible like you were the king of the world, like nothing could possibly touch you. And the next thing you know, it had you in unbearable pain. Pain that you didn't know was possible without being physically hurt. One minute you're flyin' high and the next you're crashing and burning.
Maybe that's why Dallas didn't do the whole love thing. If you loved, you were vulnerable. You could get hurt, you were allowing someone to have the chance to destroy you. And that was a chance a lot of people weren't willing to take. Hell, love was a dangerous thing and being able to put yourself out there. Letting someone to have that much power over you, now that took some major balls- that's what made you tougher than people like Dallas.
Unconditional love. The biggest, most powerful kind of love. The kind of love that could control you if you let it. The kind of love you had for Janey, no matter how bad she fucked up; and she fucked up often. You'd still love her; she was one of the most important people in your life, as much as she couldn't see that.
It was a dangerous kind of love. Dangerous because no matter how bad somebody screwed up or how bad they hurt you; you always, always forgave them.
Hell, maybe Dallas was the smart one.
