(A: I am starting on a new story and I hope you like it. Here is the first chapter.)

*****

Dear Diary, I used to live in Australia but my parents didn't like the school I was attending (Feebly's School of Witchcraft & Wizardry). They decided we would move to England and I would attend Hogwarts. So here I am right now, sitting on a bench by myself on the Hogwarts Express. We are nearly there, so I had better go change into my robes.

Yours Sincerely,

Laurie Foxwood

The students were all in the Great Hall feasting. Laurie was sitting beside one boy and across from a girl and boy. She felt nervous. She had been put in Gryffindor and she knew no one. The boy beside her turned to her and said, "You're new, aren't you? My name's Ron Weasley. Welcome to Hogwarts." "I'm Laurie Foxwood. I used to live in Australia until we moved here last summer, "said Laurie with a smile. "These are my two best friends," said Ron, gesturing to the boy and girl sitting across from them, who stopped their conversation, "Harry Potter and Hermione Granger." "'The' Harry Potter?" asked Laurie. "Yup! That's me, "replied Harry. "Wow! I can't believe I'm actually meeting you." Hermione interrupted by saying, "Dinner's over, we'd better get to the common room if we want to find out the new password.

In the common room, after a long introduction speech about herself, Laurie yawns and says, "I'm tired. I think I'm going to go to bed." She then turns to Ron and murmurs with sparkles in her eyes, "Thanks for letting me get to know you. I appreciate it a lot." "Anytime," whispers Ron in reply. She then turns to her dormitory, shaking out her shoulder-length, blonde hair as it falls in ringlets over her shoulders.

Unfortunately, Hermione catches every single part of this conversation, and none of it settles too well with her.
