Genis was getting REALLY mad. He'd been smacked around for who knows how long by these confounded monsters that wandered the halls of Derris-Kharlan, and there seemed no end to it all. What was worse, the pain of being betrayed by the one person other than his sister that he truly related with was still there. Who would have believed that Mithos was the leader of Cruxis? Genis sure didn't. Lloyd was the first to notice this, and ruffled the half-elf's hair in a good-natured way.
"Cheer up, Genis. All we have to do is get to Mithos, defeat him, and then we can reunite the worlds. That's it!" Genis simply gave him a hostile glance. But before much else could happen, another group of monsters was upon the group. Lloyd charged into battle as always, with Zelos on his heels, while Genis and his sister hung back to support the two swordsmen.
"Tempest Beast!" Lloyd cried as he unleashed his deadly combination of the Tempest and Beast techniques, sending the monster flying. Zelos was smacking away at another monster with his favorite attack chain of Demon Fang, then Light Spear Cannon. But there were still a lot, and one managed to catch Genis off guard…it delivered a powerful blow that sent him skidding toward the edge of the platform. But Lloyd had just finished off his first opponent, and came to Genis' aid with the use of Raining Tiger Blade before luring it away..
Genis was now absolutely enraged…indignant. Then it hit Genis of what spell to use: Indignation. The half-elf got to his feet and began the incantation…
"I call upon thee in the land of the dead, to unleash thy fury of thunder…" but as he said the final word, something snapped, and a massive rush of magical power poured out of the twelve-year-old, as did all his anger and frustration. The combat ground to a halt when this happened. Lloyd glanced down at his feet to see a massive, glowing circle covered with symbols and runes, and light seemed to be rising out of the lines in it. Genis, meanwhile, seemed to emanate a strange blue light, and his eyes seemed to exude a fire of the same color.
"Indignation…" Genis growled…but apparently he wasn't finished.
Before anyone else knew what was happening, dozens of lightning bolts crashed about the field, zapping the monsters repeatedly.
The last word of the incantation was screamed at the top of his lungs; "…JUDGMENT!"
Then what appeared to a massive and intricately-crafted sword dropped out of the purple sky and struck the unlucky enemy chasing Lloyd, and finally the spectacle ended with a massive lightning strike that seemed to shake the very fabric of space-time in a way only the Eternal Sword could.
When it was all done with, all the monsters lay on the ground, cooked by the magical storm that Genis's rage had given birth to. Lloyd dropped the Material Blades and stood there dumbfounded before he finally spoke.
"Genis...that…was AWESOME!" he cheered. "I've never seen anything like it!" Raine just finished rubbing her eyes, stunned by the amazing magical feat her little brother had performed. Zelos was quickly fixing his hair, which had splayed out thanks to the massive electrical charge.
The half-elf mage was panting and gasping for breath. The spell had taken a lot out of him, but it felt like a great weight was lifted from his shoulders that nothing else could have. He smiled at his friends before moving on toward Mithos.
Too bad I wasted it on those guys, Genis said to himself.
