Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Passengers and Polish" from Season 4, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

Nancy is the daughter of the conductor of Callan Station. She loved working on all the engines, including Skarloey, who loves to be polished.

Skarloey was sleeping happily, but Nancy wanted to talk.

"Wake up lazybones!" she said.

"You're just an old fusspot" yawned Skarloey as he went back to sleep, dreaming about Rheneas.

Nancy interrupted again.

"Do you want to look nice for when Rheneas comes home?"

"When's he coming home?"

"Very soon. I must go!"

"Do I really look nice?" asked Skarloey. "Can you polish me some more?"
"Why of course." said Nancy, and she set off to work at once.

Duncan was jealous.

"Aren't you going to polish me?" he asked.

"Not today." replied Nancy. "I'm helping the Refreshment Lady this afternoon with the ice cream."

Duncan was cross.

"It isn't fair!" he complained.

That afternoon there was bad news from up the line.

"Skarloey has derailed." said Duncan's driver. "We'll have to take workmen there right away!"

"No more extra work!" grumbled Duncan.

"You will do as I say!" replied Duncan's driver.

Duncan dropped the workmen off, and then collected Skarloey's passenger cars, and set off.

He sulked all the way.

"I get no rest, I get no rest!" he muttered.

Duncan made the journey very difficult and came to a stop.

"I'm not moving!" he said crossly.

"But what about the passengers?" said his driver.

"They can wait as long as they want, 'cause I'm not moving!"

It wasn't long before Duncan puffed off again.

At last, they reached the station.

"If you can make it to the station, you can have a rest and a drink!" called his driver.

But Duncan let out a wheesh of steam!"
"I'm not moving!" he said.

And he didn't!

Skarloey had to take Duncan and the passengers to the platform.

All the passengers were beyond, and I mean BEYOND furious. They were all saying what a bad railway it was.

That night, Sir Topham Hatt spoke to Duncan. He was cross and spoke in a severe tone.

"No passengers means no polish!" he boomed.

"And no polish means no passengers!" muttered Duncan to himself.

He still has a lot to learn, doesn't he?
