The sheets brushed against his soft, pink cheek. A comforting satin of blue felt cool against his warm face. The familiar warmth of his other self pressed against his back, reassuring him that there was no other place greater to be than in this bed next to 'him.'
Then the phone began to ring. Like a rude awakening from a perfect dream.
Hikaru reached out to grab the cell phone. Kaoru pushed himself from the bed and sat with his head in his hands looking at Hikaru as he talked on the cell phone. Hikaru looked stoic as he talked, which, one would notice, is his common face after waking up. Kaoru smiled at the memory of every morning waking up next to Hikaru with his childish 'I don't want to get out of bed' look on his face. This morning, though, his eye seemed so far and distant. Kaoru ran his fingers through his hair and looked away from Hikaru as he closed the cell phone. "How annoying, on summer vacation too..." Hikaru fell sideways unto his pillow. "What did he want Hikaru?" Kaoru looked over at his twin's body cuddled in the blue covers like a cocoon. Kaoru pushed Hikaru lightly with his hand, then again when Hikaru didn't respond. Hikaru rapidly turned towards Kaoru, and grabbed his wrist.
His eyes steady, and serious looking into Kaoru's fearful eyes. Kaoru was unaccustomed to this action, even during Host Club, Kaoru always knew Hikaru was not serious like this. His eyes wavered slightly, and Kaoru began to feel a longing to hold Hikaru in his arms. "Why-" Hikaru closed his eyes and let go of Kaoru's wrist, "why can't it just be like this?" Kaoru was surprised to see Hikaru in such a state, he slowly reached out his hand to Hikaru's shoulder. Hikaru shuddered at Kaoru's touch and wrapped his arms around Kaoru's slender frame. The smell intoxicating his senses, the touch of such soft skin destroyed his senses. He felt only a longing to hold onto this moment, and never let go.
Kaoru sensed this quivering emotion of Hikaru's as quickly as it was exposed, this overwhelmed Kaoru with tears which Hikaru would not shed. "It's okay Hikaru" Kaoru softly sobbed as he choked the words to his loving twin brother. Hikaru tightened his hold around Kaoru then slowly released as his hand moved to Kaoru's soft, pale face illuminated by the sun's raise through the curtains. "Kaoru..." Hikaru stuttered the words out, trying not to tear his eyes away from the face, that although a likeness to his own, held much more than any other could offer. Passion grew within Hikaru, and he became slightly afraid.
