This just kinda happened.

I did this for Astronomy Class.

I don't own!

Enjoy!

Hermione sat silently, a book in hand, her cat sleeping curled up next to her. She paid no mind to the people that kept passing her. Harry and Ron were somewhere else, probably doing something having to do with Quidditch, she wasn't really interested.

So she sat next to her cat, who purred when she stroked it's fur. She smiled when the cat snuggled up next to her. She had gotten him when he was a kitten, right from the shelter. And she didn't care if Ron was right or not, about the fact that her cat is way smarter then any cat should be, and that he was part magical creature. She didn't really care either way. He was still her cat.

She took care of him when he was weak, fed him and brushed his fur out when she could. He relied on her. And he helped her when she was down. He would snuggle close and purr comfortingly when she felt down. When she had a fight with the boys, or just when she wanted comfort for no apparent reason. He was there for her, keeping her mood up and a smile on her face.

It was no different today, not really. So when the cat stood and jumped to the floor, Hermione stood. She didn't know why he did so, but she was curious as to where he would go.

"Where are you going now Crookshanks?" hermione muttered as she followed the cat through the halls. If she lost him, he would come back for her, making sure she followed him.

The finally made it out of the castle. But the cat didn't stop there. She saw Harry and Ron with a bunch of other student, playing a game of quidditch on the pitch, but she passed them up, following her overly intelligent cat across the grounds.

They went on, until they got to the line of trees that started into the Forbidden Forest. The cat sat just on the boarder. Hermione stood next to him.

"What's going on Crookshanks?" Hermione asked as she bent down to pet the cat. The cat purred, letting her pet him a few times, before darting into the woods.

Hermione rushed after him, worried that he might get hurt.

Everytime she got close enough to him to pick him up, he would dash off again, keeping her on her toes and ready to run. They had been foing for a bit, Hermione hadn't realized how far she had gotten in until she came upon a clearing. Crookshanks was laying on his back, wriggling with a smile on his small cat face and purring up a storm.

"There you are." He let her pick him up. He hung limply in her arms, a cat smile on his blissed out face. And when Hermione looked down, she smirked and shook her head. Wild catnip. Of course. Now, why had he brought her there?

She turned, and promptly stopped short, her heart racing as she gazed at a unicorn.

Crookshanks mewed up at her, his wide eyes blinked at her, she almost thought he was trying to tell her something. She looked back up, and watched as the unicorn approached them.

It got closer, until Hermione could reach out and lay a hand on it.

Crookshanks seemed to paw at her sleave. And Hermione understood. She reached out, and set her hand lightly on the unicorn's mane. The unicorn nuzzed her arm. Hermione gasped.

This was the best thing ever. The unicorn stayed only for a minute, before disapearing back into the forest. Hermione grinned. She looked down at the cat, and hugged him close.

"Thanks. You are the best cat ever." Hermione grinned. The cat seemed content.

The two made their way back to the castle, the cat purring, and Hermione unable to stop grinning. She had the best cat ever!

Tada! I kinda loved writing this. Hermione just seems the kind to follow her cat blindly into the forbidden forest doesn't she? ;p
