No Light in Greed

In the twilight of the night

I stood all alone searching for a light

I couldn't see past all my plans

Selfish desires became my demands

Family and friends laid a waste

To fill my greed in such a haste

Wealth was my only dream

Gaining it became my scheme

To achieve this task my soul I sold

All this for the sake of gold

The end is near and all in gone

No light in dark, no coming dawn

A/N: My dad and I sort of collaborated on this poem. And yes, I do like to write my poems in AA BB format. Not that I don't write poems in any other way but this is how I usually do. It just looks and sounds neat and tidy. Which I know isn't necessary in poetry, but it's my preference when writing my own.
