House of Snow
Snowflakes gently and slowly fluttered to the ground. This snowfall had been going on for some time, and the ground was wrapped in a thick blanket of the frozen water. Overhead, the clouds showed no signs of stopping the snow from falling to the earth below. The ponds and lakes had all frozen, unable to completely withstand the cold.
In Pupupuland, this was your typical January day.
At this time of year, the snow crystals made the trees look especially beautiful. Kirby always loved going into the forest during a snowfall. Of course, Fumu and Bun always went with him, not just because of the need to protect Kirby, but also because they thought the snowfall was beautiful as well.
Today, they were walking back to their respective homes when they saw something odd. The mysterious object in question was a house. It looked like a cabin, but it was made entirely out of snow. The door was always open, and they heard a pair of familiar voices coming from inside. They wanted to investigate, but they were beginning to shudder from the cold. Each of them entered the nearest store to warm up. Finally, all three of them were warm enough, so they walked up to the doorway of the mysterious snow house.
"Hello?" Fumu called.
"Come in!" a familiar voice responded. This voice was almost too familiar to Fumu.
As Kirby, Fumu, and Bun entered the house, they were somewhat surprised at what they saw. The owner of the voice telling them to come in was none other than King Dedede. He and Escargon were sitting on a snow sofa in front of a snow TV, and they were playing a snow video game. Basically, everything in the house was made out of snow.
"I didn't expect to see you here..." Fumu said, still somewhat surprised.
"No one ever does," Escargon explained, eating a rice ball made out of snow. (Does that make it a snowball?)
"So, what are you playing there?" Bun asked, always the curious one.
"This game's called 'Frostio Superstar Slushball'. It was originally released on the Snowtendo IceCube," Dedede explained.
"We're lucky the Snowii has backwards compatibility, aren't we?" Escargon asked. Dedede nodded in agreement.
"Those controllers must be freezing your hands..." Fumu pointed out. As soon as she said this, Dedede placed his game controller on the sofa's armrest.
"I HAVE MITTENS, YOU KNOW!" the king shouted, waving his hands in the air.
"Okay...can we play?" Bun suddenly asked out of the blue. Normally Dedede would have refused, but he and Escargon took so long to make the snow house and everything inside that he would just be compelling the visitors to start a fight if he stuck with the status quo. Besides, they were being nice, weren't they?
"Yes, but this game is starting to bore us," Dedede warned. "We want to play something different."
"I found this game called Sub-Zero X. It's a racing game," Escargon noted.
"That'll do!" Dedede instantly replied.
"Yes!" Fumu and Bun shouted. Kirby cheered.
So, for a good, long time, all five occupants of the snow house played the special video games, temporarily stopping their usual fights and just having fun.
Meanwhile, the NME salesman stared out at the castle wall from the TV, wondering where Dedede and Escargon would be in this weather...
