Family Bones
zeus had a reason for putting hope into pandora's jar.
Zeus wanted to punish the Earth for his son's folly. But his mother taught him why suffering, anger, greed, is horrible. His father proved her points.
But Prometheus broke that barrier between man and god. It was an unspoken tradition to keep fire for themselves, and not to share it amongst the world. Everything Prometheus has done demanded acknowledgement. And besides. His own reputation would be damaged; all respect would dissipate, and where would that leave him? Zeus will not be cast down from his standing, he will not.
Everything falls into place without his own accord.
Curiosity surrounds the girl and when the jar falls into her arms, there's no doubt that Pandora will open.
He'll never admit it, but there's slight relief when he learns that Hope was released along with greed, suffering, anger.
(his father, he thinks, would be proud.)
