The Secret Life of Draco Malfoy
Written by: Jillian Brookshire
The night before Hogwarts was cold and rainy. I couldn't wait to go. My trunk was packed and my Mother, Narcissa was scared about me leaving her. It was just past midnight and I still couldn't sleep. I was tossing and turning when my door opened and small sliver of light penetrated my dark bedroom. Then, I saw the silhouette of my Father, Lucius Malfoy, whom always returned home late at night.
"Draco, are you awake?" he asked in his normal drawl.
"Yes, Father." I said sitting up. Father never came to speak with me this late.
"Well, since you leave for Hogwarts tomorrow, I figured I'd come by and offer you my good wishes." He said walking into my room. "You see; I actually have some advice to give. Back ten years ago when your Mother still had to wipe the drool off your chin, there was a certain dark wizard by the name of Voldemort; he sought absolute power.
"I-I remember hearing about Lord Voldemort. Isn't he the one who got killed by the Potters?" I asked recalling this story I had heard many times.
"Yes, indeed. As you know, he went to the Potter's house that night. His goal was to kill Lily, James and little Harry. If he were to succeed, him and all of us, his death eaters, would have absolute power over the wizarding world. However, as you know he didn't succeed because of that stupid Potter child now known as the boy who lived."
"Father, I didn't know that you were a death eater!" I remarked. I suppose that explained the constant late nights, and that awful tattoo on his arm.
"Well, now you know, and you should also know that I am forever indebted into the service of Lord Voldemort, and that he is NOT dead. He will rise again, kill Harry Potter, and reign the wizarding world. You should also know that Crabbe and Goyle's fathers are both death eaters as well and they will be looking for you at Hogwarts. You are to all be sorted into Slytherin, and last but not least, whatever you do, you are to never ever become friends with Harry Potter. He's the one that ruined everything. Best of luck, Draco." Said my Father
He stood, picked up his cane and walked out of the room once again leaving me in the darkness with my thoughts.
