Mario 2000

As the dark night passed and the bright sun arose, the warmth engulfed all of Mushroom Village. Peach suddenly opened her eyes, staring at the wall. She stood up and dressed herself, with a smile on her face. She glanced at the enormous clock on her wall. She had fifteen minutes until breakfast. As swift as a bee she flew across the room and turned on her brand new computer. Once it booted up, she connected to MOL, which is short for Mushroom On-line.

"I wonder if I've received any new messages." Though Peach, with a grin on her face. She hit the "ENTER" key and saw that she had three new messages.

The first one was an ad selling Bowser's castle. Peach deleted that message almost instantaneously. The second one was from Mario. She opened it and began reading out loud.

"Dear Peach, please come to Mushroom Hill today at 8. Hope to see you there!"

The third one was from Luigi. He almost never e-mails her, but today was an exception. As she opened it the computer went blank, and a couple seconds later the clock rang. It was time for breakfast. Peach was too hungry to think about what had happened, so she sprinted down the halls and dug into the plates.

"Peach, dear…" The king of Mushroom Village frowned at his daughter and spoke once more. "My, I have never seen you eat so much in my whole life. And about that house, don't you think you ought to move out?" He put his fork down and signaled to her.

"Oh yeah," she replied in a long voice. "No. Thanks. Too late. Have to go. No time to speak..." She grabbed some breath and spoke again like a machine gun. "I have to go, see you later. Feed the pets, or whatever…"

"But Peach!" exclaimed her father. "We haven't any pets to take care of. Are you all right?"

The princess had no time to speak. She was too busy thinking about her computer. She stopped to look at her father and ran up the halls again. She closed both doors to her room and sat by the computer screen

"Right…" she thought. "When did computers learn to turn themselves off?" She thought for a moment as syrup dripped down her cheek. "Oh yeah, the message." Her eyes rolled off again until she jumped out of her chair. "Ahh! A virus, I've just received a virus!" She lay on the floor and wiped her lips off. "Eeww! Syrup!"

Mario was at Mushroom Hill, waiting for Peach to meet him. He had been there for a couple hours now and had begun to get frustrated.

"Oh Peach, where are you? Where can you be?" Mario had so many questions to ask himself, yet he found no answers to any of them until a thought popped up in his brain. "Luigi is at it again!"
