The Mountain
As Dipper, Mabel, and Rose raced as they usually do, they stopped at the water tower where the "Muffin Explosion" was spray painted on by Robbie. Rose was panting.
"You guys run really fast and take the fun out of racing."
"Are you sure it's just us?" Dipper asked.
"Well, you are usually running for your life from, everything." She smirked. "Race you back to the shack!" Rose fell in the middle mark and Dipper and Mabel ran over to help her up. "I can't believe…you fell for that again!" She ran as fast as she could back to the shack.
"You are such a jerk!" Dipper screamed.
"And you know I fall for everything!" Mabel screamed as well.
"Wanna head up to the mountain?"
"Sure! Race you there!" Dipper, Mabel, and Rose raced until they reached the bottom of the mountain.
"Hey, Dipper, Mabel! You guys know how to mountain climb?"
"Not really."
"Well, it's like rock wall climbing, minus the harness. Watch." She started to climb, finding foot spaces. When she reached the peak, she started to head back down. She stood next to Dipper and Mabel. "Now you guys try, except stay up there until I get all the way up." She stood there watching Dipper and Mabel successfully climb up the mountain. Then she started to climb up. They all sat on the edge and watched as the sun set.
"I never knew you watched sunsets, Rose," Dipper said.
"Yeah, and I never knew you weren't scared of heights and dying and mountains and being alone with no one around but girls."
"Now you listen here!" Dipper stood up causing the two girls to stand straight up and stood at the middle of the peak. "I am scared of nothing."
"Okay, I'm sorry. I was kidding, it was just a joke!"
"Just a joke!? You don't kid about what people are and aren't afraid of! You know, just because you are bullied by your folks at home, doesn't mean you can go around making fun of people!" He kept screaming in her face, causing her to back away from him until she was on the edge of the mountain's peak. She looked down at the fifty foot drop, onto nothing but cold hard cement.
"Just, back off."
"I will not back off!" The loudness of his scream caused her to back up one more step, her foot losing a spot on the mountain peak. She started losing her balance and started to move her arms in circles, trying to find balance. Then, as her hope of her not falling built up, she started to feel her other foot lose its place and she started to fall. All hope was lost for her, until she felt a hand shoot down and grab hers. Dipper helped Rose up, with the help of Mabel keeping him from falling off as well.
"Thanks, Dip."
"No problem. Anything for causing me to have only two or three friends instead of three or four friends."
"Let's never climb this mountain again."
"Agreed!" Dipper and Mabel screamed. Rose climbed down the mountain first, followed by Mabel and then Dipper. When they all reached the bottom, Rose fell to the ground, happy to actually be on the ground.
When she got up, she said, "Race you guys to the shack!" The three of the started sprinting to the shack, enormous grins on their faces, leaving fifty feet of mountain behind their backs.
