Gosh, I feel so scattered, or at least my mind is. Ever since Finn has started going out with the Flame Princess, I feel as though I'm missing something. Sure, he was obsessed over me, but it feels lonely now that he's gone. It wasn't that I liked the attention; it was that I wanted to feel love, wanted to be love, wanted to love someone.
I suppose that's where she came in. Marcy was always there for me as a friend. Sure, we got into fights often, but we always ended up forgiving each other. I'm not sure how she figured uot I was depressed; I didn't show any feelings of it, and it's not like we saw each other often enough for her to realize it. She sort of just showed up at my door, an answer to my prayers.
"Marceline! I wasn't expecting you!" Bubblegum stepped back to let Marceline into her room, though she found it odd that Marceline had knocked on the window.
"Well, Bonnie, I thought you could use a…friend." Bubblegum only pondered a moment over Marceline's hesitance over the word "friend" before closing her window. "It's the middle of the night though, couldn't you have come in the morning?" Bubblegum regretted her words as soon as she said them, not realizing her mistake until too late.
"Well, us vampires have to be careful of sunlight, or you know…" Marceline smiled, in a slightly creepy way. "Anyway, Bonnie…"
Bubblegum was surprised to hear that nickname. Long ago, she was called that, but rarely anymore. "Marcy, why are you here?" She fell back on her bed, in not an eager but tired way. Marceline started to float around Bubblegum's bedroom, obviously directing her eyes anywhere but at Bubblegum.
"I just thought…I thought you needed a friend." Marceline forcefully answered Bubblegum, finally making eye contact with the Princess. Raising an eyebrow, Bubblegum wondered if that was a lie. "Marcy…" She moaned, hoping to get the truth out of her.
"Look, Bonnie, I…" Marceline was obviously out of her comfort zone. "I… I.."
"Out with it already!" Bubblegum sharply interrupted the vampire, not because she was impatient, but because she was dying of curiosity. "Come on!" Marceline had drifted down by her, and Bubblegum nudged her.
"All right, all right… I… like you…" The mutter Marceline had produced was deathly quiet, but Bubblegum had heard it all. Eyes widening, she quickly got up and started pacing. "Marcy, I….I don't kow what to say…"
Marceline looked up at Bubblegum; there were tears forming in her eyes, and Bubblegum wanted to melt in her arms right then and there. "Marcy…"
With that, Marceline got up and leaned forward until she was inches away from the Princess' face.
"Bonnie, will you love me back?" It was barely a whisper, but Bubblegum huffed up. "Marcy, you know I.."
With a start, as though she couldn't bear a painful answer, Marceline leaned forward and kissed Bubblegum. Melting into the vampire, Bubblegum wrapped her arms around Marceline's neck, and pressed tight against her new lover.
