Harsh pounding and banging echoed throughout the current dwelling. A startled cry, then the booming of what could be described as a herd of elephants thundered downward to the lower level of the dwelling.

A whoosh here, a clank there, ruffling or fabric and materials. A click before a few moments later followed by a ding. The sound of heavy panting before a loud crunch then creaking of an opening door.

A blinding stream of sunlight beamed down on top of an old picture frame, withholding an image of a gray haired, elderly man smiling as strongly as the current shining light.

"Bye Grandpa! I'll be back later! Take care of the house while I'm gone!" came a tender shout as the creaking door sounded shut with a solid 'click'.

The voices owner headed out down the road.

Hi, my name is Yugi Moto. I'm just your average eighteen-year old. High school graduate, got good grades, have a decent paying job, a roof over my head, food for my table and good friends. Yup! Nothing out of the normal here. Well, unless you count my appearance.

See, unlike normal people who have one, rarely two natural colors to there hair, I have three. Blond bangs, black hair, and the tips of the black being violent. Plus my hair is constantly in a star shaping. No matter what I do, it remains to mock gravity. I can totally here Sir Isaac Newton rolling over in his grave, somewhere.

My skin is pale like most asians- Oh yeah! I live in Domino Japan by the way. So, yeah, pale. Though people have compared me more to porcelain or ivy tone.

Despite my actual age, my body seems to continue to torment me with remaining at a hight of only five feet-two inches. My childish features don't help either, for I always get mistaken for a ten or eleven year old.

Ah yes! My face. That's the real clincher. For it is what makes up my face that people always assume me in being a child. My eyes. My eyes have always been bigger, practically consuming my entire face. However, just like my weird hair, I also have strange eyes. For you see there not brown, green, blue, hazel or even rare mixes of any two. No. My eyes have a color entirely of there own.

Amethyst. That's right. My eyes are the colorations of a rare gem stone. Isn't that damn swell.

Gulping down the last of his toast, Yugi dashes across the street, barely missing a speeding car that should have waited for the light. Zipping around the corner and past the park the teen skid to a stop before the door to a game shop. Taking deep inhales to catch his breath he pushed the door open, the tinkling of a bell announcing his arrival.

"Yugi, hey good morning." greeted a sweet voice.

"Morning Hana." Yugi answered back. "What's on the agenda for today?"

Hana pushed back a lock of her red hair that stretched to her shoulder. Her light blue eyes narrowing, a method of concentration with her. "Well it's Duel Monster's week so, at one were having the auction for that giant Dark Magician and giant Blue-Eyes White Dragon plushie. Then from three to five it's duelers training and at six to nine is the free lance tournament out back."

Yugi nodded as he fixed up his clothes from the run. "So I'll be missing the tournament it seems."

"Actually…" Hana fidgeted. "Mono called out sick about an our ago, so I need your help here."

Yugi groaned. "Great. Another eleven hour shift. What's Mono sick with this time."

Hana sighed. "The flu, apparently," answering with equal annoyance.

"Yeah, it's so easy to catch the flu in the middle of summer," Yugi growled.

Hana only huffed another sigh, her eyes shun with sadness. "Will Mono ever take this seriously?"

"I doubt it," the tri-colored boy huffed. "Anyway, let's get working. We have an hour before all hell breaks loose."

The redhead giggled as she followed Yugi's lead.

As the hour ticked away the first swarms of kids began flooding in.

"Welcome to Kaiba Games," Yugi greeted them as the day's craziness began.

Nine o'clock couldn't have come faster to Yugi, as the free lance tournament came to an end. Yugi and Hana spent the last hour cleaning and closing up the shop.

"I love weekends," Yugi hummed, a giggles was his partners only respond.

"I'm sure. Well, enjoy your two days off Yugi. I'll see you on Monday." Hana waved after she and the boy both exited the shop. She locked the door behind her and headed home.

"I will, see you then Hana," the teen called back before venturing home himself.

It was ten twenty-three by the time Yugi got home. His stomach roared for food, but his eyes and achy muscles screamed too sleep. Deciding he'd make a big breakfast Yugi trudged upstairs after greeting his Grandpa and wishing him a goodnight. The teen sluggishly dressed for sleep and simply plopped down on his bed, squirming under the blankets. With a content sigh Yugi closed his eyes, sleep quickly pulled him away from reality.

Vision was nothing but a blur. Not matter how hard the focus was to see clearly it was as if the vision was half blind. Blurs of darkened greenery…forest? Woods? Trees and bushes zipped by at a fuzzy speed.

Heavy breaths huffed as the scenery began blacking out. Lights dimming only to focus on a figure of red a good few yards ahead.

The forest suddenly gave way to suburbs. A city. With his shifting speed, building after building flew by to the point nothing could be distinguished. The red figure was losing ground and suddenly the feeling of flight, of being airborne was present. An eerie screech, the sounds of like a combination of nails on a chock board and some sort of high pitched alien scream.

A roar responded to the screech. Heavy. Pain. Angry. Determination. A drive, a need to search. The feelings were overwhelming. Another screech echoed as a flare of hot pain burned at the side. The taste of life, metallic and sticky, flooded the sensitive taste bud of the mouth. A roar, heightened into a yowl of pain, cried as the feel of heaviness between jaws lightened, a chunk of flesh now where the heaviness once occupied.

Then silence.

A sudden pulse had the visions re-consumed by darkness. A heavy weight, like a pressure pushed agains the center. Not really suffocating but not allowing enough air or movement.

Another cry sounded, but this time it sounded human.

A loud bang echoed. Then, everything was still. No movement, no sound. No nothing. Humming, like the wings of a hummingbird flickered in and of out existence. A being of sensations overpowering, but nothing but darkness reigned. Then a faint filcher of light broke through. Small as it was, it only took seconds before the little speck erupted into view.

Two flames of blazing red eyes bore down before another screech shook the black world into nothingness.

Amethyst eyes sprang open as there owner bolted upright in bed, a startled scream coming forth. Sweat dampened his form as breath eluded him, fighting to regain it.

'What…was that?' Yugi mused. Before the teen could process anything, however, a loud thud sounded. Snapping his head towards his closed bedroom door Yugi stared at the object with growing fright. What ever it was, it sounded like it was coming from downstairs.

Going over again and again in his mind Yugi cursed himself for his innate curiosity. Pealing back the blankets the teen creeped towards the door. Slowly he opened it as he slipped out the slim gap he made. He was worried if he opened the door more, it's creak in protest to his late night awakening would alert whoever was downstairs. As silently as the wooden floor boards would allow him, Yugi tiptoed down the stairs. Reaching the bottom to cautiously peered around.

A low groan sounded in his living room. Inching his way into the room the teen eyed the long metal broom he had. Grabbing it to continue, a bit more confidently, into the room. Upon reaching the source of the noise he dropped the broom and gasped as he rush forward toward the body laying face down on the floor.

"H-hey! Are you alright?" Not getting any response Yugi looked closer to see the person was either passed out or dead.

His conscious screamed that this was a bad idea but Yugi chose to follow his instincts. Leaning over to lift the stranger, a warm, wet substance instantly coated his hand. The liquid gleamed black in the moonlight that came in through the window as Yugi pulled his hand away to examine it only to choke out a muffled cry of horror. 'Blood!'

Yugi rushed off, collecting towels, a bucket of warm water and pelting up stairs only to rushed back down with a small basket of disinfectant, gauze, a wash cloth and bandages. Hurrying back into the living room Yugi threw the light switch on and rushed over to the person bleeding out on his floor. Some may say Yugi was stupid or foolish be helping a person who broke into his house, but that's just who Yugi was. He cared for anyone who needed it, no matter there reputation.

Rolling the stranger over, Yugi was again caught off guard by the burglars appearance. It was a male, and he looked chillingly like an older Yugi. Higher cheek bones, narrowed chin, longer limbs stating he's taller, firm build, red lining the black body of his hair with golden bangs not only framing his handsome features, but a few streaking up his hair. Even with his eyes closed, Yugi could tell they would be narrowed, slanted some, and possibly just as breathtaking as the rest of the man. Shaking those thoughts out of his head, Yugi went to work cutting open the man's black, leather tank top, revealing a finely formed muscular chest. Yugi would have been drooling were it not of the many cuts and blood painting his front.

Wiping down the wounds and applying the disinfection, Yugi patched gauze before finishing with bounding them there with the bandages. When he was finished the mans neck, upper chest, right arm, left wrist and lower abdomen were all wrapped. Bandages stuck against his right cheek, his forehead and on his stomach's center, right above his navel.

Looking over him, Yugi went red seeing there were some wounds on the mans legs too. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, Yugi proceeding to removing the man's pants and tending to the wounds there.

It took Yugi three hours to have the man completely patched up and resting peacefully on the couch. Yugi a retrieved a pillow and blanket for him. It was a couple hours before dawn as the teen could just begin to see the sun's teasing rays tickle the darkened sky. Huffing an exhausted sigh Yugi took up watch over the man as he sat in his arm chair across from where the stranger slept. After retrieving a pillow and blanket of his own the teen snagged his current reading material and made himself comfortable in the chair, after turning off the light. The smaller sat in that chair, reading by candle light so as not to irritate the room's sleeping occupant.
