Been playing Final Fantasy III for the DS recently and this one-shot idea came to mind.

Refia was backed against a tree, her eyes wide with fear as she looked at the object in Arc's hands. Ingus held back a smirk as he watched the two.
"Please, Refia? You have to!" begged Arc.
"Get that away from me, Arc! You know I hate toads!" screamed the redheaded Devout as she pointed at the purple amphibian in the Magus' hands.
"If you don't, Refia, then Luneth will be stuck like this forever," stated Ingus.
Refia stiffened a bit. She didn't want Luneth to be stuck as a toad, but her fear of the amphibians won over her worry. She looked towards the Red Mage. "Why can't you do it, Ingus? You have White Magic as well!"
"…I would, but I don't swing that way."
Refia looked at the blond with a confused look. "…What?"
Ingus and Arc shared a look before looking back at the girl.
"You see, Refia, the Toad spell used on Luneth was cast by a rogue wizard," explained Ingus.
"So?"
Arc then spoke up. "If it was cast by a monster, then Ingus could easily have broken it with his White Magic, but since it was a skilled mage who cast the spell…"
"Then it can only be broken by a kiss," finished Ingus.
Refia's face glowed red. The thought of kissing Luneth has crossed her mind before, but she never thought she'd actually get to kiss the silver-haired boy. She wasn't even sure if Luneth had the same feeling as she did.
Then the current situation popped into her head. Luneth was currently a toad, the one creature she feared above all else. She did not want to kiss a toad, but if she didn't, Luneth was going to be stuck like that forever. Tears built up in her eyes at that thought. She didn't want to lose Luneth. Wiping her eyes dry, she turned to Arc and held out her hands.
"Give me Luneth."
With a smile, Arc handed the toad over to Refia, happy that he was going to get his friend back. "Thank you, Refia!"
"Hm. Now both of you go away! I don't need anyone seeing me doing this!"
Ingus held back a laugh as he and Arc left their campsite, leaving Refia alone with the toad.
Refia looked at Toad Luneth with a little fear in her eyes and trembling lips. Gathering her courage, she brought her lips down to the toad's mouth and kissed it. In a flash of light, the toad was no longer there and standing in front of the redheaded Devout stood the silver-haired Knight she knew and loved.
"Thanks for breaking the spell, Refia," said Luneth with a smile.
Refia blushed greatly. "I couldn't just leave you like that, Luneth."
"Yeah, but you overcame your fear of toads to save me, so I thank you again," said Luneth as his hand reached up to play with one the cat ears on Refia's hood.
Refia gave him a soft smile. "You're welcome, Luneth."
The Knight suddenly smirked as he wrapped his arms around her waist, getting a small squeak from her. "You know, I do wonder what it would be like to kiss you as a human."
Eyes widening and blush deepening, Refia hid her face in Luneth's chest. "S-Stop teasing me."
"I'm not teasing you. I really want to know, but I'll only do it if you say it's okay."
Looking up at his face, Refia stood on her tiptoes and gently placed her lips upon his, to which Luneth returned the kiss. When they separated, they smiled at each other, though Refia's face was the only one that was red.
"So? What do you think? Better than you expected?" asked the Devout.
The Knight gave her a grin. "Much better. Hopefully I can get more kisses in the future?"
Refia giggled at his hopeful tone. "Definitely."
