After quickly kissing Hayden on the forehead, Ariel practically skipped out of the nursery, greatly looking forward to the day ahead. Melody was spending the day with some of her friends.. well, some of her human friends, and Eric insisted that Ariel spend the day in Atlantica. Besides the fact that the former mermaid hardly had any time to visit anymore, Eric wanted to spend the day taking care of their newborn son and bonding with him.
After making the necessary arrangements, getting herself ready, and making sure everything that Hayden would need during the day, Ariel kissed Hayden on the forehead and practically skipped out of the nursery. She met Eric at the bottom of the staircase, and he informed her that he wanted to walk her down to the shoreline. Carlotta would keep an eye on Hayden.
The royal couple made their way down to the beach, standing on the warm sand as they waited for Adella to appear. After a few minutes, the brunette mermaid popped out of the ocean, waving to Ariel and Eric. Ariel waved back with a smile, then turned and kissed Eric goodbye. Their interlocked hands unwounded, and Ariel walked into the water, holding her locket and singing. Within a few moments, her smooth legs became her scaly green tail, and she swam out to Adella, turning only once to blow a kiss to Eric.
Once Eric began to walk back towards the castle, the sisters dove under the waves, heading back to Atlantica. However, Ariel noticed that Adella seemed quieter and more restricted than she was when she was waving at them. The redhead knew it wasn't like her sister to be so quiet and reserved. "Adella.. Is everything okay?"
Adella met Ariel's eyes and sighed, almost frustrated. "It's just… Why can't I have someone like that?" she said, pointing back towards the castle. "You're so lucky, having a gorgeous husband who loves you unconditionally… I've never had a guy like that, and I must've dated so many." Adella sighed, almost pouting.
Ariel stayed silent for a minute, knowing how much Adella loved boys and romance. "Adella, you'll find someone," she told her sister confidently, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I promise."
Adella looked up hopefully. "You really think so?"
"I know so," Ariel nodded. "What's not to like about you? You're beautiful, outgoing, romantic, kind… Everything a guy would like in a girl! You just need to be patient. You'll find him." She gave her sister a reassuring smile.
"Well, I don't think I can disagree with you," Adella replied, the smallest hint of a grin gracing her lips. "Thanks, Ariel," she said, pulling her sister into a hug as they continued swimming.
"Now, let's go home!"
