A/N: This is a one shot because apparently I do not have the time to make out a long continuous story, especially since I don't really have a constant access to a computer. This is un-beta so I apologize for any spelling and/or grammar mistakes. Enjoy!
"If you weren't here, who else would entertain me with their stupidity" those were the words that came from his mouths but they were not the words that he was thinking of. Doumeki wanted to say something else, something that he knew if he spoken the words Watanuki would surely look at him differently. Whether that different was good or bad was something Doumeki would never know.
It was not that he was scared of what he was feeling, he already knew how he felt, but he doesn't know what Watanuki felt about him. Anger and annoyance seem to be the most common emotion that is directed towards him but sometimes. On the more quiet days, the days in which Watanuki does not have some spastic attack, there was a sense that Watanuki actually enjoys his company. During lunchtime, Doumeki never brings his own bento because he knew Watanuki was going to make one for both of them no matter how much he complains about it. There are times when Doumeki injures himself while protecting the spastic boy, he could see concern and thanks in those dark eyes. Too bad times like those are infrequent and rare. "God" Doumeki thought to himself, "when did I become such a sap."
He was lucky that he was not as prone to emotional outburst as Watanuki but there are times in wish Doumeki wanted to shake the boy and tell him that he does not want to be Watanuki's rival. That he wanted to be seen as a friend or in the best-case scenario something more. It's hard trying to get close to someone who always thinks you are his rival for some bizarre reason. Indeed it was bizarre for that they never had much contact with each other but for some reason or another Watanuki felt him as a threat. Most likely because of his dear Himawari-chan.
Too bad Himawari-chan was actually a nice person who was sweet, charming, and not so bad to look at. It would make it a lot easier to get closer to Watanuki if the girl had a personality defect of some kind, so far there was none. So in Himawari's sweet way she is making his life a tad more difficult. A tad more difficult in getting to be closer to Watanuki. The boy who wants nothing to do with him.
He kind of wish that he was more outspoken like Watanuki. So he could say how he feels instead of covering up with some stupid reason. And those stupid reason are soon running out if Watanuki keeps asking him why he worries. He already used the food and entertainment reason. Those were partly true because what Doumeki really wanted to say was that he cared. That he cared if Watanuki put himself in needless danger and that he care enough to always be there to save him, to bail him out of any supernatural trouble. What Doumeki wanted to say was " I like you."
I figure love would be too strong an emotion for Doumeki so I pick like and I hope you ppl like the story. Plz review
