I'm afraid the characters are horribly OOC, but deal with it. lol
When the teacher asked for someone to take Satoshi's schoolwork home for him, I was the first to volunteer. He had called in sick with a deadly fever and couldn't come to school. It was shocking, because he rarely got sick.
'Thank you for taking it to him,' my sensei said. 'Not many can go to his house without making it common knowledge.'
I laughed. 'Don't worry; I'll get it to him fine. And no one will be showing up at his place in the morning.' I left, a stack of books piled in my arms.
The air was chilly outside, as October was just around the bend, and the wind was blowing swiftly.
It took me a few moments to remember where my blue-haired friend lived, but quickly it surfaced once more.
Ten minutes later I buzzed the doorbell to Satoshi's apartment, but got no answer. He must be asleep, I thought. Wait… There was the sound of a gunshot and shouting coming from a TV. I cracked open the door and was faced with a very surprising sight. Every single wall was covered with paint. And not just one solid, single coat, it was dozens of colors, splashed and thrown about. There were paint buckets littered on the floor, stacked and tipped over, with paint dripping out to form small and large puddles.
I walked delicately around the mess, Dark watching through my eyes. What the hell is Creepy boy up to? he wondered.
The door leading into his living room was slightly ajar, and I pushed it open wide enough to walk through. In here, the walls were painted even heavier, and, if possible, with even more color variety. In the center of all of this sat Satoshi on his sofa drinking Coke and watching cop shows.
'Satoshi? What's going on her?' He looked up, an out-of-character grin plastered on his face.
'I didn't want to go to school today,' he answered simply.
My face went slack and Dark fainted inside my head. I set the books and homework down on a t able so I could sit. I smothered Satoshi's hair back from his face and felt his forehead. Perfectly fine.
'Something's wrong with you. Why are you acting so strange all of a sudden?'
He shrugged. 'I don't know. I needed a change. I woke up this morning and didn't want to be a Hikari anymore. So now I'm just running on instinct and impulse, and doing whatever I feel like.'
I raised an eyebrow. 'Being your "true self" includes going crazy and painting your walls all sort of strange colors?'
Satoshi laughed. 'Pretty much.' He was silent for a moment, as if debating something, and then turned. He crawled closer to me and brought our lips together in a short kiss.
I pulled back, bright red in the face. 'What was that for?.!'
'I'm being my true self, remember? And I've wanted to do that for ages. Now shut up and kiss me.' Without answering, I did just that. It was curious: I had never really been attracted to him before seeing him so…him.
Satoshi deepened the kiss, at the same time unbuttoning my uniform. I blushed, but didn't protest.
PAGE BREAK, SINCE I'M NOT TALENTED ENOUGH TO WRITE WHAT WOULD NORMALLY GO HERE
Later that evening, Satoshi and I were lying on his couch, snuggled up together, watching TV.
'So…watching cop shows is something your inner self likes to do?'
He laughed and drew me into a kiss.
