A/N: I do not own warrior cats nor do I make money from it. Everything belongs to Erin Hunter.

Fireheart pushed his way through the mass of cats that were struggling to get past him Flashes of gold, brown and white blurred his vision but he didn't see the gray he was hoping to see. Flames engulfed the trees around him but he knew he had to go on, he'd be gutted if he left her to her own devices. His ears pricked as he took in the sounds of yowling around the busy camp. His body tensed as a tabby tom brushed past him, a limp in his stride. How many other cats were injured? The orange warrior went back to his search, looking for the familiar pelt He thought his heart would stop when he saw the limp mass of gray fur in the medicine cat den. No. It had to be a mistake, however there was no mistaking the she-cat Her chest moved slightly with effort. She was alive! But only just. ''Yellowfang.'' He whispered once the cat's identity left no room for doubt, rushing up to her despite the twinge of pain in his foreleg, laying down beside her ''You...came.'' She choked out, her voice raspy and feeble, chest heaving, an effort with every breath. ''Of course I did.'' He tried to purr, his worry for her health genuine. ''There nothing you can do for me now.'' She rasped, taking one huge shuddering breath before burst into a fit of coughs probably caused be the smoke inhalation. ''No, I refuse to believe that, there must be something...'' He started but was cut off by Yellowfang. ''Just remember, I love you.'' She whispered as her body gave a final jerk before stilling. ''And I, you.'' He whispered back, burying his head in the medicine cat's fur, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
