It's been around 8 months since I was acquitted of any of the charges that came with Queen Tatiana's murder. Since the real murderer was Victor Dashkov, somehow he snuck back into court and broke into her room. Ambrose finally came out and mentioned that he had been knocked unconscious the night of the murder. Apparently Victor used compulsion on him to make sure he didn't remember anything before or after being knocked out. How he got a chance to steal my stake however- is still a mystery to me.

Once the trial for what was to happen to Victor was set and done, they held the elections for the new king or queen, to everyone surprise but mine since I always had complete faith in everything she did, and I'm pretty sure It was the same way around. They had chosen Lissa. She was nervous as hell through the whole inauguration thing they did to officially make her queen. I could feel it through the bond which only made it worse off for me because I was already a nervous wreck.

But, I knew once Jill set that crown on Lissa's head that THIS was what she was always meant for. A trueborn leader, a leader that would make the best decisions possible for both Moroi and Damphir's. Her people. That day I knew things would change for the better.

Oh, but I was dead wrong. On the count that Tasha was still after Dimitri, no matter how many times he said he wasn't interested she just wouldn't back off. I thought of taking the matter into my own hands, but my guardian duties took over from there. They had named me head guardian and head of Lissa's Royal Guard here at court.

They were sending me off to what they called Sanctum Guardian Training.

It was apparently required of all Royal guardsmen to go and learn more techniques to better be prepared to handle the threats that came with guarding the queen, and other high up royals.

I hadn't seen Dimitri since we came back and pointed Victor as the murderer. The last time I actually touched him was the night of the hotel. I missed him. They had thrown Lissa and I right into action after we had been appointed to our posts. Which meant no sleep for us. The good thing is I basically got to work side by side with her for the first week. We caught up while we were sorting through the courts numerous problems with wards and complaints from other Royals.

We had talked about what I did when I was gone, What we were going to do now that I had gotten both of us into this mess, we talked about our future, we talked about when I was leaving for training and what would happen when I got back, about both Christian and Dimitri. We talked about everything.

It almost felt like we were back at the academy except with more work and responsibility on our shoulders.
