10 Years From Now
Akaya and Marui were having a small conversation in the clubroom. Mainly because they're bored. Yes, again.
"Marui-senpai."
"What?"
"Have you ever wondered what life would be like ten years from now?" the younger boy asked.
"No, why?"
"I'm just wondering…"
"I'd be twenty-four years old then, and you'd be twenty-three."
"Other than that…"
"I don't know," the so-called tensai replied.
"What do you think would happen to the other regulars? Like, Mura-buchou. What do you think would happen to him ten years from now?"
"Maybe he'd be a pro."
"How about Sanada-senpai?"
"He might follow Mura-buchou, and become a pro as well."
"I kinda agree with that," Akaya said half-heartedly.
"What do you think would happen to Yanagi?" Marui asked this time.
"He'll probably follow that Inui guy from Seigaku…"
"Why?"
"To bring back childhood memories."
"Or something like that."
They both nodded.
"How about Jackal-senpai?"
"Hmm… Jackal… I wonder…"
"He might end up with you," Akaya snickered.
Marui gave him a glare.
Akaya continued to laugh.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that."
"Well, anyway. How about Niou-senpai?"
"He'd probably live with Yagyuu."
"And Yagyuu-senpai?"
"He'd end up with Niou."
"Poor Yagyuu-senpai…" Akaya said, lowering his head. "He'd have to live with an animal like Niou-senpai. "
Marui nodded, agreeing.
"How about you?" the second year turned to ask, "What would happen to you ten years from now?"
"I don't know…"
"Don't you have any future goals? Other than being a pro, that is."
"Not really."
"Maybe I'd end up living with one of my teammates…" Marui wondered out loud.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Things."
"What things?"
"Things you wouldn't understand."
Akaya smirked. "You're actually going to live with Jackal-senpai?"
"No," Marui replied bluntly.
"Then who would you end up with?"
"I don't know…"
Akaya shivered. "Don't tell me that person is me."
"What if it is you?"
"My head might explode or something."
"What if I said it was you?"
"I'll collapse!"
And Akaya did so.
"Oi, Akaya! Don't just fall down dead on the ground like that!"
"I can't breathe!"
"You're overreacting."
"Air! I need air!" he continued on.
"Stop that! You're freaking me out!"
"Fine."
Akaya sat up to his normal position.
"Can you breathe now?"
"Of course."
"I'll repeat the question I asked a while ago, What if I say it is you?"
"I said I'll collapse!"
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah."
"So you're fine with that?" Marui asked.
"Fine with what?"
"Fine with what I said."
"Kinda."
