"I'll take the fucking thing, if all you old shits are gonna do is argue about it!"
Masamune glared at them all, challenging.
Of course.
The vulgar outburst itself had silenced the arguments that had indeed been flying around the meeting.
In the shocked silence, Masamune snorted and rolled his eye.
Shingen looked at him, smiling. "Any objections?" he asked the people around them.
"Masamune-sama..." Kojuurou whispered. He stood, facing the man he called Lord, facing the man who had been dragged on this...quest with no warning whatsoever, but who was seeing it through to the bitter end.
Even if it meant going through the hellfire that was Oda Nobunaga's territory.
Suicide.
"You have my sword, Masamune-sama," he intoned strongly, unsheathing his weapon. He knelt in front of his lord with such solemnity, that the growing disgruntled whispers around them died in curiosity and awe.
Masamune's expression was unreadable as he watched his most loyal of retainers kneel in front of him and offer his sword. He straightened, his eye only seeing the man in front of him.
He took the sword, flipping it so that the sun reflected off the engraving near the hilt. His bowed his head and his hair shadowed his eyes.
It didn't hide the smirk growing on his face. With a twist of his wrist, the blade flipped in the air and when it fell smoothly back into his hand, he held it so that the edge hovered over Kojuurou's neck. It wavered then traveled upwards until the tip of the blade traced the scar on the man's cheek.
Kojuurou didn't flinch.
"Masamune-dono!"
"Ssssh, Danna!"
Masamune ignored them. "You have no right to give me...," he intoned lazily. The people around them held their breath. "...what's already mine."
Kojuurou smiled. "Masamune-sama..."
"Stand up, Kojuurou. You're the only one I trust to watch my back on this crazy trip."
He handed the sword back with secret smile. When Kojuurou grabbed hold of the blade, Masamune leaned forward to whisper in his ear.
"I'll have a need for both of your swords, after all."
Kojuurou flushed just as other shouts sounded around them.
Masamune grinned wickedly.
"You have my spears, Masamune-dono!" Sanada Yukimura
"Danna! Be serious!"
"Oyakata-sama! Permission to-!"
"Granted! Sasuke, you're going with him!"
"Oyakata-sama..."
"I guess you have my blade as well, Dokuganryu!" Maeda Keiji.
"HITTO! You're not leaving without us!"
And four of Masamune's retainers fell out of the bushes.
