Strange lights shimmied about the tardis console room as The Doctor twisted knobs and slammed buttons whose impact appeared to be irrelevant. "Here we are," Eleven cried over to River from the other side of the console, "the Singing Towers of Darillium! Wonderful show! It's been awhile myself, but if I remember correctly- "Doctor!" exclaimed River, as he reached for the tardis door, "Just one moment..." With this she took step to the right and casually pulled a few levers and knobs. The tardis gave one more flash of light before returning to a satisfied hum. "Just a few galaxies off," she said with a sly smirk. Eleven grinned back at her; his eyes lit up. He opened his mouth to speak, but instead just sighed. "You're hairs too big." He quipped with a smile, and with that kicked open the door and leapt outside. River shook her head, laughing and followed after.
She stepped out of the tardis only to find her breath stolen away. Massive incandescent red orchards flowered overhead. A hazy yellow glow shone down on her doctor, who stood holding his top hat at his knees. A faint song could be heard from all around her, and she looked up to a sky full of stars, twinkling and sparking down on them in time with the music. The Doctor extended his arm, which River ignored and stepped past him, still looking up in awe. "It's beautiful…" she whispered, "Really, it is." And with this, still ignoring his outstretched hand, pulled in her doctor and kissed him. The lullaby still played in the background as the world seemed to dissipate around them.
When they finally pulled away, Eleven twirled River and pulled her close once more. "Did I ever tell you about the time I taught ballroom dancing in the court of King Louis XIV? Nice bloke- great dress sense. How do you suppose I'd look in a doublet?" River questionably raised an eye. "Definitely not cool." Eleven shrugged and gave a contemplative frown, "ehhmm… Forget I asked that… Well, Professor River Song, It seems your landing skills are still a tad bit off! I happen to know we're several miles of target." "I guess my skills remain elsewhere," she responded with a seductive grin. "Well," the Doctor returned, "if we want to catch the best show, we ought to be there in the next hour or so." "How do you suggest we do that?" River asked, running her finger down the side of his jacket, her bright eyes locked into his. Her doctor instantly broke into a smile, and straitened his bowtie. "Well," he beamed, taking her hand in his, "I suppose we run."
