I absolutely LOVED SWATH. It really surprised me, actually. I went in with pretty low expectations and walked out in love with basically every part of it: )
So this is my contribution, hope you guys like it!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own any part of SWOTH, but I'm accepting early birthday presents!
Summary: It's been long, fourteen years too long, but now he's back and he isn't sure he likes what he sees.
You could say he's been gone a long time, although that could be considered an understatement. A long time is a couple months or even a year, but fourteen years could almost be considered a lifetime, at least it was to him.
A lot had changed; the whole realm was almost bursting with life, all thanks to her. Her; Snow White, the Queen. The drab castle he remembered was full of light and happiness, filled with children's laughter echoing through the gardens.
That's where he saw them.
Apparently, the whole Royal family had decided to take a walk through the garden to experience the beauty of spring. The two little boys resembled their mother down to the last detail, but the eldest, the Princess, she looked exactly like her father. Oh, she was the Queen in feature but the electric blue of her eyes and brownish blonde hair were unmistakably inherited from her father.
Seeing the children made his heart hurt, knowing that in another lifetime they might have been his, but it was the couple walking silently behind them that truly broke his soul. They painted a beautiful picture; the elegant, dark-haired queen and the tall, rugged king. A truly majestic, classic portrait of royalty. And so in love with one another. The king's eyes rarely left his wife and only then when the children made an unusually loud sound.
This was proving to be a mistake. His time in the southern reaches of the realm restoring order in the Queen's name had not stopped the pain nor the love in his heart. He had left almost directly after the royal wedding, and had only stayed then because she had asked him to walk her down the aisle. And hadn't he promised himself to never abandon her again?
A body bumped into his. The blue eyes of the princess looked up at him, "Oh, I'm sorry. Excuse me."
He forced his lips into a smile. "That's quite alright, Your Majesty."
"Avelyn, please, sir. I quite dislike 'Your Majesty'."
"Named after your grandmother, I see."
The young girl's eyebrows furrowed. "Yes."
"Avey! Come play with us!" Two voices sounded behind her.
Avelyn smiled back at her younger brothers. "Wait one moment please, Magnus. And don't hit Eric, please." The future queen turned back to him. "I must be going, sir."
"It is no trouble, princess." He inclined his head and she turned to leave.
William took one last longing look at Queen Snow and King Eric, before deciding that yes, leaving the South had been an absolutely terrible idea.
Surprised you there, didn't I?
I just love Snow/Eric together…but I also feel bad for William so I…did this.
Tell me how you feel about it please! : )
Love Always,
