September 11th, 2001, New York City, New York, USA
"On this sad day, a plane crashed into the Twin Towers, here, in New York City. As of right now, we do not have any details, but we will inform you as soon as possible." That's what a news network told the population on that day, years ago. This event is probably the biggest terrorist attack known of all time. Cries were heard through the City and the world, but the most surprising of them all came from a world known detective. He was devastated; he didn't know what to think, because on that day, he found out what was going to happen. It was too late...As the attacks happened, he found what we was looking for during his investigation. After he finally found out where the culprit was, he discovered a warning concerning terrorists, America and the world. It was 9PM. This warning was written in letters and numbers: "22 8 OM 13 212 50 9 11 1".
The detective understood this code easily and in a matter of minutes. He was devastated, because if he would have seen this coded message before, he could have prevented one of the biggest acts of all time. However, nobody ever asked or talked to him about his discovery; his childish nature took over him in an instant and he burn it, so that nobody could know about it.
This detective goes by the name of "L". For this case, he chose taking the name of the second greatest detective in the world, Eraldo Coil, so he wouldn't have to send hordes of policemen investigating at his place. He wanted to act by himself, but as soon as the case started, he realized even Coil would need some help. He then asked Watari, his "assistant", to send him a good detective from the United States, so he would know better the area than him and he would be familiar with the case. The case known as "The Code Slaughtering Case" was little known, so the information wouldn't be too mediatised and to prevent people from panicking after such murders.
The case, that started one month before the terrorist attack, had its evolution just after Eraldo Coil asked Watari to contact a detective one week after it began. The other detective was named John Christopher.
