A/N: THAT DUCK IS CREEPING ME OUT. SHOO, DUCK, SHOO.
The sea was just as peaceful as always. The seagulls were sweeping over her gracefully, calmed by sound of the sea washing against the shore. Glittering sands covered the bare ground. And just in front of her lay the most beautiful sunset she'd ever saw, sinking deeper and deeper into the horizon every minute.
Rin stood up in fury. She couldn't take it anymore.
How could everything remain the same even when Len's gone?!
She kicked the sand, releasing all her anger which was built inside her for months, sending bits of sand flying as far as she could.
True, she had gotten over on the fact that Len was not in this world anymore, but the fact that she wasn't able to convey her feelings towards him hurts her the most.
"It's okay, we're twins anyway, they won't notice. Look, even Mistress Luka couldn't tell us apart." Len chuckled, forcing a smile.
"But, Len-"
"We have no time now. Hurry up and get dressed." The blonde boy handed her some clothes.
And those were the last words that came out from the brave, charming young boy.
Before she realized it, the dry sands were already moist from her wet, salty tears that were rolling down her cheeks uncontrollably.
"That's funny. Where did this came from?" Rin chuckled faintly, slowly wiping off the liquid from her crystal-blue eyes.
Just as she was about to brush off her last teardrop, a glitter caught her eye. She looked down at her hand where the glitter had come from.
It was a ring. A shiny, silver ring.
Although a part of the ring was rusted, it carried so many treasurable memories. Rin smiled. She remembered when Len gave her the round piece of silver. 'A link of connection' he said. 'So that we'll never be seperated again.'
"Baka Len..." she muttered, remembering all the moments she had with her dear Len. More tears tumbled from her pretty face like falling raindrops.
"Rin..." she muttered to herself. "You promised Len that you won't cry again... What's wrong with you?"
She glanced back at the ring which perfectly fitted her long, slender finger, letting her mind drift away further.
"Are you still wearing your ring too, Len?"
She recalled how Len was caught instead of her the day before she got sentenced to death. But Len, dear, sweet, kind Len, was foolish and stupid enough to change places with her. She hated that kind of personality.
And in the end, Len died.
"Oh, Rin-chan, I thought you'd be here." a voice interrupted her train of thought.
Rin let out a small 'ah?' as she turned around to face the owner of the voice.
"You still thinking about Len, huh?" the voice said again, while Rin inhaled the annoyingly sweet new scent that was now overflowing in her mind. Dizzily, she made a face at the person.
Rin caught a glance of a long, flowy, green hair before closing her eyes again, letting arms bigger than hers surround her small, tiny body, forgetting all about her disturbing troubles and closing herself in from reality.
