Javert went to sleep
And had a dream
He died and came to the pearly gate
He stood there with confidence
He never sinned
So there was nothing to do but wait
The door to heaven opened
and The Father came out to greet him
"Tell me son," the Father said
"One reason to let you in"
"Well Father," Javert said with pride
"I never went astray
"I followed your commandments
"Each and every day
"I never sinned
"I never wronged
"I never fell apart
"Father I am
"A man after Your own heart"
The Father looked at him
His face grew red with rage
"Are you kidding me son," He asked
"Did you even read my page?
"You spent your life condemning people
"Shaming them with pride
"You've never shown them what to do
"You never offered them as much as a guide
"You never lent a helping hand
"I should through you in hell
"But luckily I'm not you
"So you'll be sent back to Earth again
"And from now on you'll have to do your best
"To show them my love
"or you'll never pass my test"
Javert awoke with a start
He was so very scared
And vowed that each and every day
He'd help anyone be prepared
He would find the love he needed
With the heavenly Father's light
Thank you Father, he whispered
Proud now to be in the right
