David should have had his mind on the woman in his arms, and the fact that they were back where they were supposed to be, safe and sound and together. He also should have been feeling relief that he hadn't in fact murdered the man who had somehow become his friend after all of their experiences together. His ears and eyes had other plans, though.

"What is it?" Snow was asking him.

"Nothing. I'm just relieved we're back and everything seems to be okay right now."

"So why aren't you kissing me?" she asked.

He kissed her.

"Nope, that doesn't count," she said. "You can't kiss me and look at the loft at the same time. I'm selfish like that." She turned her head to follow his gaze.

"It's just that… they've been up there a while."

Snow looked up at him and grasped his chin, pulling his attention to her. "She thought he was dead."

"I know." Yes, he knew all too well, and the guilt tugged at his gut.

"Charming."

He heard the note in her voice, and knew what it meant. She now had his full attention. "You're going to educate me now, aren't you?"

"Yes," she stated with a smile. "Just like us, they are happy that they are back together, so give them their time."

"I could swear that I heard a thump, like they might have fallen on the… on the…"

"It's a bed. You sleep in one every night."

"Yes, well that was a while ago. And I thought I heard laughing."

"You did."

"Did Emma giggle?"

"There's a first time for everything." His wife traced her finger along his bottom lip. "I thought it sounded wonderful. I was afraid that she'd never really be so…"

"Happy," he said.

"And with a pirate," she added.

"The terror of the seas."

Snow looked at him quizzically. "What was that?"

He shook his head. "Nothing, just something I heard somewhere. So, do you think we should just leave them up there, doing whatever they're doing?"

"Hmm," she considered it for a few moments. "We could go to Granny's."

"And leave them here? Alone?"

"Charming, he loves her."

And suddenly it was all too much. "Hey!" he called up there. "We're going to Granny's. We'll wait while you get ready!"

"DAVID!"

"I'm her father and I'm going to act like it."

A very rumple-headed Killian Jones peered around the wall at the top of the stairs and winked at him. Winked! "Be right down, mate!"

He nodded at Snow, satisfied.

"Emma's not the only one who's happy," she said.

"Not going to think about it," he said.

Snow went over to where the baby was sleeping in his bassinet and gently scooped him up. "Keep telling yourself that."

He glanced back up at the loft, wondering what was taking them so long to 'be right down'. "Tick tock!" he yelled.

He heard a groan in Emma's voice. It sounded like "Oh dad…" For the first time all day, he smiled.
