I got the idea for writing an origin story for Ash's Pikachu reading something called "Pokemon Field Guide: Pikachu Report" by TipsyRa1d3n on DeviantART. This story will detail the early years of his life, and as such, takes place years prior to the events of the Pokemon anime and my fanfic The Real Smash Bros. (which uses the idea that the Smash Bros. Pikachu is Ash's Pikachu). In this fanfic all Pokemon are capable of human speech, whether they choose to showcase it around their masters or other humans is up to them. If not, they say their names as they normally do.
I don't own Pokemon.
(October 17, 1990. Ash Ketchum, who doesn't figure in this story until the very end, is only two years old. Scene – Viridian Forest, a den, it is raining outside.)
"The time is almost here! Our little ones should be born in any moment!" a male Pikachu said in an Italian accent. "All the food has been gathered. It should last us quite a long time!"
"Oh honey I've been waiting for this moment for three months. Our little bundles of joy. We are about to be a family!" A female Raichu said also in an Italian accent.
The electric rodent couple was eagerly awaiting the birth of their Pichu litter. They had met during the mating season back in July. Both Pikachu and Raichu take part in the mating, some pairs end up as two Pikachu, some as two Raichu, this one happened to be one of each.
The mother Raichu said as thunder rumbled outside, "oh my honey, it's happening! They are coming!"
The father Pikachu rushed to his mate's side, as he helped deliver the little Pichu who came out of her.
Like real-life baby mice, the Pichu were born without any fur, and with their eyes closed. There were five in total.
The father Pikachu said, "they are so beautiful!"
The mother Raichu said, "so precious and cute! 2 boys and 3 girls."
The mother Raichu deduced the Pichu's genders the same way one could deduces a mouse's gender in real life.
She began nursing her litter, feeding her milk to her newborns.
The father Pikachu said, "this is a proud moment for us. Today, we are now a family!"
So yeah this chapter is kind of short but I just wanted to get the gist of things. Although in canon media Pokemon are born from eggs, in this story Pichu are born the same way mice are born in real life (this goes for most mammals). Credit goes to TipsyRa1den for the inspiration behind this story.
