Naruto always seemed like the kind of man to be tough and unbreakable. He was one to look evil in the eye and tame it like a lion. Hinata Uzumaki had just become his wife, and while their honeymoon plans consisted of dinner and a romantic walk in the park...they had to settle for movies in the living room.
Hinata had her beautiful indigo hair alive and bouncing with shining curls, and Naruto had the intoxicating woodsy smell of his cologne looming about his neck and chest. One step outside and the heavy wind blew away their preparations for the amorous night ahead. Rain flooded the streets as lightning danced in the sky with the loud crashes of thunder.
"We better stay in tonight, 'nata. It's looking a little rough out here." Naruto hooked an arm around Hinata's waist as they watched the storm rip leaves from the trees.
Hinata and Naruto laughed into the night as they made dinner for each other. Hinata made a delicious bowl of ramen for Naruto, but he failed several times to make her anything from scratch that was at least decent. As midnight approached, the kitchen was a mess with dirty plates...reminiscent of Naruto's failed attempts to cook Hinata a proper meal.
"Your ramen has gone cold, dear." Hinata giggled as she watched her depressed husband curse at the stove. He swore up and down that he was not going to eat until Hinata had something to eat as well.
"I have an idea, let's share." She gave a cheerful smile as she hugged him from behind.
Turning around, Naruto caressed her soft cheek as she snuggled into his warm palm. He couldn't help the slight chuckle that escaped his lips.
"How did you manage to get egg yolk on your forehead, silly?" Naruto reached for a napkin to wipe his blushing wife's face.
Naruto held Hinata close to his chest as they lay together on the couch watching a movie. He wanted to watch something comedic or action packed, but Hinata insisted that they watch one of her new favorite romance movies, The Notebook. She, along with Sakura, Ino, and Tenten had watched it at her bachelorette party...and she cried like a baby when it ended.
The living room was cast with a dark blue hue coming from the TV screen, everything else was hidden in darkness from the late hours of the night. The sound of trees rustling in the wind could be heard through the window, the noise alone a subtle indication of how cold it was outside. Hinata slowly pulled the blanket over them and gave Naruto a small peck on the cheek.
Expecting the usual warm and stubbled skin of Naruto's jaw to meet her lips, she instead kissed something...wet? She reached over to switch on the small lamp next to the couch to shed light on Naruto's face.
Hinata's lips turned upwards at the sight. Naruto was sobbing uncontrollably.
"Sweetheart, I'm sorry I haven't been able to be here to read to you.
I didn't know what to do. I was afraid you were never coming back.
I'll always come back.
What's gonna happen when I can't remember anything anymore? What will you do?
I'll be here. I'll never leave you.
I need to ask you something.
What is it sweetheart?
Do you think that our love could create miracles?
Yes I do. That's what brings you back to me each time.
Do you think our love could take us away together?
I think our love can do anything we want it to.
I love you.
I love you, Ellie.
Good night.
Good night. I'll be seeing you."
Naruto always seemed like the kind of man to be tough and unbreakable. He was one to look evil in the eye and tame it like a lion. But tonight, he was as intimidating as a puppy.
