A short NCIS: LA fic! My very first, wrote it when I was bored and done with my assignments! Hope you enjoy!
Deeks and Kensi had been following up a lead on a gang out of Los Angeles that had ties to a major terrorist cell in Afghanistan. They had run into a warehouse in south L.A. to find headquarters. Upon finding their leader, they also met their match. Seven bodyguards armed with MP7's were walking around.
"Ready?" Kensi asked Deeks with her eyes.
"1…2…" Deeks signed.
Then the bullets began to fly. The first two guards didn't even get shots off because they had been shot down so quickly. The next three went down without a sweat. The last two began machine gunning the posts Kensi and Deeks were hiding behind.
Kensi began to move. She dodged bullets and switched posts while the men ran out of ammo. Deeks shot the last guard off. Or so he thought.
Suddenly, a hand came over Kensi's mouth. She screamed into it and began to fight. But the man was a professional, and kept a strong grip. She struggled and tried to find her gun, only for it to be missing.
Deeks turned. "Kensi!" he yelled when he saw his struggling partner.
"Don't come any closer!" the man threatened, pointing Kensi's Sig at Deeks. Kensi knocked the gun out of her captor's hands and kept fighting. Deeks pointed his gun at the man. But when he tried to pull the trigger, it became stuck there.
"Dammit!" he said to himself. He cursed a little bit in his head, but he decided to find a new plan. Quickly, he used his thumb to push a bullet into the chamber. The gun un-jammed just as fast, and was ready to fire.
Kensi quickly understood what her partner was doing. She dropped her weight and pulled up quickly. Her captor, stunned by this, stumbled, and did not see Deeks move. Little did he know, Deeks was now behind him, taking close aim at his head.
A trigger was pulled.
…
Kensi fell to the floor.
…
So did her captor.
…
Deeks had fired a round straight through the man's head. His grip had released on Kensi immediately. He rolled her over. "You okay?"
"Yeah. Now," Kensi replied breathlessly. "What happened?"
"Magazine jammed for a second. No biggie."
Kensi looked surprised. "So you used that thing…"
"Yep. Works like a charm." He helped her up.
"Wow. Thanks Deeks."
"No problem Kens."
Kensi smiled and said to her partner, "I owe you. And I think…No, I definitely trust you with my life as of today."
Deeks smiled back. "Maybe Sam was right. You really need to be able to trust your partner."
"Yeah, he was." She took a deep breath and said, "Then I declare this issue: Resolved."
A/N: I hope you enjoyed my first fic! Please review, tell me how I did!
