Prologue
Welcome to Bermesiah Academy, otherwise known in the vicinity as the capital of pure randomness. It is a prestigious school in which most of the pupils come from highly influential families. The campus consists of two baroque-style buildings, each housing over two thousand people – faculty and students alike. The compound is covered with trees, cherry blossoms in particular, and also serves as a bird sanctuary.
My name is Elesis, a simple girl who had just graduated middle school. There isn't a particular dress code for this Academy, so I wear my middle school uniform – a sandy polo with a red tie topped with an orange vest, a yellow skirt with orange stripes and a pair of orange sneakers. I also had my hair swept to the side to fit my style. Not that I cared but, oh well.
Lire, my best friend, is your average school girl. She has earned a good reputation for acting politely in front of school teachers, and respecting other students. Dress code or no dress code; she takes it as a habit to wear a proper school uniform on a daily basis. She is often seen wearing white long sleeves and a red tie to match, a red skirt and a pair of red sneakers. She wears her blond hair in pigtails which make her look ten times cuter than usual.
My other best friend, Arme, is a lot smarter and stranger than Lire and I combined. Like me, she wears her old uniform – a white polo and a red tie topped with a powder-blue shirt, a yellow skirt with red stripes, a pair of powder blue socks that climb all the way up to her knees, and a pair of red school shoes. Her purple hair was trimmed to about an inch above her shoulders. The main reason why she's the target of curious eyes is because of her huge, circular spectacles, and it makes her look weird because we couldn't see right through the lenses.
The three of us sit side-by-side in this whimsical classroom of ours, every single day, listening, reading, and, unfortunately for me, writing. And every single day, there's one simple question I'd love to ask everyone: WHY THE HELL DID WE ALL END UP IN THE SAME CLASSROOM?
