Dear Hedgehog

A/N:

Read any further and Johnlock ensues, rated PG, obvious slash. Enjoy!

"Sherlock?" John said, making his way up the stairs to their flat. He hadn't been able to take the day off today, even if it was his big day. He had expected Sherlock to forget, or push it from his mind because it "wasn't important," kinda like the solar system.

John wasn't bothered. A few of the nurses at the hospital had gotten him a few things to celebrate. With each step he made his way up to the flat a sense of surprise swept through him as he smelt the remnants of a lemon cake being baked. But that would mean that the famous consulting detective Sherlock Holmes… was baking.

Just as John walked into the room, Sherlock appeared, with an apron on and an oven mitt on one hand. "Oh hello John. How was work?" He asked.

"Um… It was fine-Sherlock what on earth are you doing?" John was glued to the floor, the sight of used cookware in the sink and on the table.

"What do you mean? I'm baking a cake for the birthday boy!" He said, gesturing to the lemon cake sitting, frosted on the table. "I made it just for you."

John walked around to stand next to Sherlock, looking at the cake. It had the words "Happy Birthday To My Hedgehog" on it. A little messy, and covered in little round, rainbow colored sprinkles on it, but perfect. John turned to Sherlock and lightly wrapped his arms around him, and was surprised to find that Sherlock did the same.

"Happy Birthday, John." He whispered, his face buried in John's hair. They broke apart, and John's soft blue eyes stared back at Sherlock.

"John? What is it?" He said, a sense of concern spreading across his face.

"Sherlock Holmes…" He whispered, "I think I love you."

A seconds pause occurred, and then Sherlock stepped in and placed a lite soft kiss upon his love's lips. Holding John's face between his hands, he whispered "I love you to, John Watson."

Hope you enjoyed! Just a little Johnlock fluff fic to quench your thirst for a few minutes (haha). If you have any requests for a fanfiction please let me know, It'd be a pleasure for me to write it.
