Promises

My first Clintasha fanfic

The archer grunted as they fell to the cold, hard floor once again.

"Got any bright ideas now sunshine?" he said to his partner whose back was to him. Natasha lay back against him, breathing quickly as her blood slowly started to seep into the floor. She grimaced before she began to speak. "Clint?" She asked in a whisper. "Tasha?" he replied cautiously, knowing what she was going to say. "Do you remember what your promise, the one you made in Budapest?" She asked. He said nothing preferring to lean his head back to hers with a sigh. "You promised to-" she started "I know what I promised" he interrupted bluntly. Clint slid his fingers along the metal chains that had binded them together. "You promised to do whatever I wanted if I had no way out" she continued. He ignored her continuing to press at the chains. "Clint. You have to get out. I'm not going to make it. Just go." She cried. Clint shook his head roughly and twisted his elbow up harshly. Natasha groaned as the chains jostled before they fell to the floor. Clint turned back to his partner, lowering her to the floor gently. "I'm not leaving you Nat" he stated whilst pressing down on her wounded leg. As bullets began to rain down outside he picked Natasha up bridal style and walked out of the door. He scowled at the stupidity of their captors before hurrying his steps. Their weapons lay strawn over the dark corridor. The sound from the floor below was deafening the archer as he began to pick up the disgarded weapons. Strapping the widow bites to Tasha's wrists her eyes started to close. "Hey, hey. Natasha!" he said, stroking his thumb over her cheek. Her eyes opened up slightly. Stay with me okay?" The sound of footsteps started to bound up the stairs. Natasha grabbed Clint around the waist pointing her bites shooting a man behind them. "I got your back bird brain. Now hurry up before I hear Coulson complain about the paperwork for this!" She laughed weakly. Clint gripped her waist tightly and started towards the window. He loaded his bow and shot to one one of the tall trees facing the building. Together they swang to the nearby forest. The archer lay his partner on the soft undergrowth at his feet. "Why didn't you leave?" She asked closing her eyes and breathing softly. The man simply kissed her on the forehead and whispered in her ear. "Children don't break their promises"
