Sweat dripped from her blue brow. Already this battle had lasted far longer than she had expected. He had improved vastly. Cubone was's spirit was still in shape for battling, but not its body.
The adolescent before her held a smirk. She cursed inwardly remembering their previous exchange.
"No healing items this time."
"Pft. Whatever. It's not like I've ever used them against you before."
If only she could slip it a berry. Cubone might then be able to last a few more moves.
"Bonerush, now!"
"Metalclaw, Sneasel!"
It was like a movie. A brief exchange and the two Pokemon stood opposite each other. Sneasel fell and Cubone stood victoriously.
That's what was supposed to happen, right?
The lonely Pokemon fell, it's bone club clattering against the ground as it dropped.
Immediately, she ran to her injured Pokemon in an attempt to catch it.
"Cubone!" It looked up at her, disappointed in its failure. She petted and cooed it. "Don't worry, love; you did your best. Come on, we'll go straight for the Pokemon center." She recalled Cubone.
The pigtailed girl stood and looked up at him. "Well, it looks like you did win. Now what do you want." It hadn't occurred to her that making a bet with him would be a bad a idea. She had never lost to him before and even though she had seen him training, she hadn't expected him to win now.
"Do you want me to declare you champion or something? You could have just challenged me at the Indigo Plateau." It did strike her rather odd that he just wanted to battle in an empty field, but she assumed that he didn't want to gather too much attention had her lost again.
"Hn. I don't really care for such an empty title." She glared at him. Empty? That's all he had been after for as long as she had known him.
"Then what do you want?"
"Close your eyes." What, was he going to draw on her face or something? How immature. She had just opened her mouth to protest when she felt his lips descend upon hers. The fact that it had surprised her was an understatement and- Wait was that his tongue‽
When they finally parted, a million things had hit her at once. She was flushed, they were both panting, and at some point he had slipped his arm around his waste. Not a second later was he walking away from her stroking his Sneasel on the head. "Good job."
Finally unfroze and yelled many a profanity at him. He continued walking off unfazed. She could practically see the smirk on the other side of his head. She stormed to the nearest Pokemon center. As she walked away, she said under her breath, "Damnit, Silver. That was my first kiss." Her face was still red when she reached the city.
A/N: Hey guys! What's up? What? My other fanfic, Impossible Encounter? I haven't forgotten about it. It's um… definitely not writer's block or anything. =_= *coughhack* Well maybe a little. A lot of it definitely has to do with the fact that a) it's my first quarter in college and I had no idea how I'd handle the workload, b) my old laptop died and I got a new one, which resulted in MS word not working (which is why this was actually written in notepad), and c)… definitely not procrastination. Not at all. Nope. _ _ I promise the next chapter will be up before spring. Really.
Anyways, please feel free to leave a review. I love constructive criticism. Too cliche? Too obvious? Boring? Just let me know. Any review will do. Especially flames which are wonders on my marshmallows. Danke~
P.S. This is totally my Silver's birthday contribution. Yep, definitely. _ _
